a sampling of my garden blooms today

I had a bunch blooming today but here are a few of my favorites.. many are new to me

A Phillip Reilly seedling that I snuck out of his garden

MISS IZY

Cute yellow and much prettier in person

Clump of SPACECOAST STARBURST. Ignore the blurry spot--I think the camera was sweating..lol.. this clump is huge and I missed it when I did my fall dividing. I love to see clumps in bloom!

A favorite of mine - HALLOWEEN HOCUS POCUS

EDGE OF DARKNESS is another of my favorites - can you tell I like the dramatic eyes and edges? Ohh who am I fooling..I like them all (well exception being spiders)

DOVE IN FLIGHT- two blooms at once although I couldn't get a good picture of them both- very nice and opened well

And my favorite for the day is BEFORE NIGHT FALLS-- love that dramatic color!

I am enjoying everyone elses blooms and that wish list keeps getting longer.. happens EVERY year..lol.. hope you enjoyed a sample of the Meyers garden.

Beautiful flowers, Shelly. I like the velvety color of 'Edge of Darkness,' and the rounded ruffle of 'Miss Izy.' (Can you tell golden edges are finally growing on me? LOL)

No, I designed the rock walls, terraces and raised beds and hired out to get the work done. I started the hardscape around here in 2007 and have just been doing one hardscape project after another. I saved for the three years before I started and then spent lots of money. But my yard is not level and it needed the work if I wanted more gardenspace. And I deffinately wanted more gardenspace. My roses have to have green leaves as I will not put up with blackspot. I do spray fungicide frequently (every two weeks).

thanks for all the kind words...FAME is an attention grabber for sure.. and Ellie.. I used CHERISHED MEMORIES pollen on one of my seedlings hoping to pass along that great edge..we will keep our fingers crossed. I can't wait to see future blooms on FRANK'S FIRE OPAL.. that first bloom knocked my socks off.. now--to go see what is blooming today..lol Shelly

Beauties all Shelly...hope you've been getting some much needed rains lately...this drought has my dl's pretty stressed even though I water constantly.
Keep posting your pictures, I'm enjoying them immensely!!

OH WOW! Before Night Falls is awesome. I've been looking at it and now I know for sure that I want it. I always like to see garden photos before I buy when possible. It sure helps to know how they preform in gardens or even in our pots.

The photos are great! I too, love the seedling. It looks like a rich dark rose pink on my pc. Is this correct?? In fact it looks like velvet to me.

Shelly, P. Reilly will kill you when he discovers you got his prize coral seedling. She is beautiful. Before Night Falls is stunning too!!. You have some great dls. My Sc Starburst doesn't even have a scape.I guess it's hard for them to grow in concrete, which is what my ground is like...Ellie

ABSOLUTE STUNNERS Shelly! My favorite would have to be BEFORE NIGHT FALLS, very dramatic which is what i need in my life right now.....LOL!
Was so funny when she snuck out of the garden with that seedling ya'll....as I planted a big juicy kiss onto Phil as Shelly ran towards the truck with that beauty! AH JUST KIDDING!
Please....y'all.....do a bloom dance for me! I've had plenty of rain, the scapes are coming, but daggumit where's my bloom?

Thanks everyone.. the Reilly seedling is out of a Smith seedling that isn't yet registered and yes..it is just as lovely in person. Nice diamond dusting and holds up very well in our heat. Nancy TRIED to fight me for it.. but one knock out punch and the seedling was mine! As for a bloom dance Nancy-- I need a RAIN DANCE! We have only had 1 1/2 inches of rain since the first of May.. luckily my well is DEEP!
Noticed my two seedlings posted about a week ago are blooming again..so time to grab the camera, a cup of coffee and see what else I can snap a shot of.
