I can't understand why you are trying to put the hook between the stitches--it doesn't go between any stitches. I can help but I need more info. What kind of tape are you using? There are dozens of kinds of tape for making pinch pleats. Is it the kind where you measure and create your own pleats or one that has pockets for hooks If it's the first kind--did you sew your header down--you are not supposed to. You sew the tape to the top of the curtain, fold it over and measure for your pleats. Then you make a loop where the pleats will be and sew it the full length of the header. Then go back and make your pleats in the loop and tack them widthwise on the bottom of the header. The hook goes under the header on each side of the pleat. The header is open between the pleats. If you are using the kind of tape where you insert hooks to make the pleats or the one where you pull strings to make the pleats you don't sew over the pockets but under neath them. Gwendolynne, I LOVE your choice of colours. I wish my furniture and decorating could mathc your colours. They are soo soo nice! I am completely colour challenged, and I have seen all of these wonderful rooms posted with fabulous colours, so I need your help with choosing colours for my rec room, bathroom, and kitchen. 1. REC ROOM/LIVING ROOM: We live in a side split house and are wanting to redecorate our rec room area, which is half in the basement but with full windows and still with lots of natural light. The bottom half is with cedar / oak wainscotting and the carpet is a blue colour. I have no idea what colour to paint the top half. Our furniture conssits of beige couches, wood coffee table and end tables. Our theme is going to have bar and sports paraphernalia (and we have a foosball table). I dont want to go with a blue paint because two of our bedrooms are painted blue and I would like some different colours in the house. I love colours but have trouble picking out colours on my own. Since this is the main room where we watch tv and hang out while the kids play, I would like a warm colour that makes the room cozy but fresh and new/classy. Someone suggested yellow or beige to me, but I am thinking I want more colour. What about red (Benjamin Moore Northern Fire) or would that be too dark? 2. BATHROOM: For our bathroom, it has a "teal-like" colour for the countertop and gray-blue cushion flooring. I have no idea what colour to put on these walls. I know green is not good to put in the bathroom. Someone suggested white, but I want colour! However, I know that the green counter top probably limits my wall colours. Am I stuck with white walls? 3. KITCHEN: Our kitchen has wall paper on the bottom half and a beige on the top half. Our counter is a pink (UGH!) and our back splash has pink, browns. Our theme is a country kitchen. I would like a dark warm brown for the bottom and a lighter colour for the top, but I dont know if this would work or not with the pink countertop. The curtains look great! There are two things, small details, that I would change. I would pull the top of each drape toward the center just a bit more, so that the drapes swag from the center window side of the divide, rather than the side window side. I think you will get a softer drape. Second, I would either get a more decorative tieback holder for each side and move them in a bit more toward the window, or put the hook right behind the outside edge of the drape, so that they are not pulled back so tightly. You want the outside edge of the drapery to hang straight down, not be pulled toward the tieback holder, and again you will get a bit more fullness and softness from the drapery that way. As for your pretty vase, that should really be displayed empty, I think. I would look for a piece for the center of the table that picks up on the antique brass color of the nailheads on the chair, then fill that with natural grasses and dried pods, as well as some things that pull out a bit of the plum color in the chairs as accent like dried hydrangea and artichokes.

You are right - I went to the JCP website, and some of their pinch-pleated drapery are hung from clip rings. I find that so odd - a very casual way of hanging a more formal style of drapery treatment, especially to have the clips showing on the ends. Personally, I don't care for seeing the clips and chain behind the pleats, but that is just me. If you zoom in on a few of those pix on the JCP website, you should be able to see how they have attached the clips. They come in sets of 7 because there is a standard number of pleats per panel for ready-mades.
