Sorry you couldn't sleep, it just seems to happen sometimes and is major annoying. I am not much good for anything if I don't get my sleep. I wanted to sleep in this morning but the landscape guys were here at 7;30 this morning cutting the grass with all their ruckus so of course I woke up.

Al least you were able to get some great pictures before the sun got hot and fried everything. I love the zinnias, they are so pretty. My favorite daylily bloom is CLASSIC EDGE, it must really love the heat as it is really showing that toothy gold metalic edging.

I am truely puzzeled by Oktoberfest. I am sure that is not Oktoberfest but I am also sure it came from the clump of Oktoberfest. Is that the only fan with scapes? If not then tie a string around this scape now. That way can tell after bloming which fan it is. I am wondering if seed dropped and a seedling grew as I just can't figgure this out.

Great pictures Jean! Classic Edge & REd Eye Gravy are my favorites, you know I can't pick just one, & have a hard time choosing only 2, they are all lovely. Russian Easter is always great, isn't it? Probably Rita is right on Oktoberfest, hopefully other fans will bloom right. It is always such a gorgeous rich color.

Rita, No I have 2 fans with a bloom on each fan,which is one of the blooms in this post today.The 3rd fan has a bud on it,and it had already bloomed a few days ago,and wasnt a pretty bloom so didnt take a picture of it.Both blooms todAY looks exactly alike.well, maybe these fans need some fertilizer.
I didnt get my usual picture of Wonder Of It All.It just had one bloom today and it never did open all the way.Its been so beautiful,I guess it has earned a bad day.It still has buds yet to open. I was just fixing to try and go out and start watering them, when my daughter called me to see if the man got my ac fixed and working now,and I told her yes, and its really putting out cold air now, but,I need to go get started on watering,and she came unglued and told me to not even think about going out right now,Its much to hot out there, 104,she told me to wait till the sun gos down,and even then will be a bake oven out there.I forgot if Oktoberfest reblooms or not.Have to check and see,and if it reblooms, maybe if I put fertilizer around it, the next blooms will be the orange color. hope so.

Jean- I can't figgure out what happened here but I am sure that is not Oktoberfest. It is driving me bonkers trying to figgure it out. At least mine should bloom soon so that I can check that.

Well, Casey,I am sure Rita is right.She knows her daylilies, much better then me.But, if it is not Oktoberfest,then it has a wrong name sitting by it :)At any rate, what ever it is,I am keeping it and I think its very pretty.Maybe we should rename it and call it the Oktoberfest mystery.

Mystery is right. It is driving me buggy trying to figgure out. I think the fact that multiple fans blooming removes the possible theory of a mystery fan sneeking in there.

I just dont know what is the problem,Rita,The one I lost was a pretty bright orange color, amd I planted this one in the same spot as the other one was in..So, wouldnt think its the different soil then you have, doing it, since the other one was a pretty orange color.It IS a mystery.I may dig it up and pot it until next spring to see what happens.But, I like this color, too.I have 3 out there I plan to dig them back up and pot them again,as they are looking as if they wont make it,and I do not want to lose them if I can help it.One is BEAUTIFUL EDGINGS. one is VICTORIAN LACE that Jan sent me several years ago, and the other one is BIG YELLOW TAXI.Wish we would get a cooler day now so I can go do it.Right now its 100 degree and feels like 107, so I am not going out in that hot sun right now.
