I'm pretty sure there was a thread on here a while ago about Roots & Rhizomes. I've never ordered from them, but I believe the comments mentioned how pricey the catalog was compared to most daylily sellers. There have been tons of threads on the forum about reputable sellers. If you do a search for these topics, you'll find lots of helpful information. If you're not hybridizing and are just growing daylilies for your enjoyment in the garden (like me), then it really doesn't matter whether you buy a tet or a dip. (Ploidy refers to the number of chromozomes in the plant, and for hybridizing purposes, this is necessary information.) Good luck in your search -- Chris

I sure hope your experience is better than mine (and numerous others.) I was brand new to daylilies and was very excited about all the seeds. I even used the pollen on some of my other few daylilies. What I got was less than average. Most looked pretty much like Stella but didn't bloom much and were a total disappointment. I also found that letting all those pods develop on my Stella took so much energy out of the sweetie that it took three more years before she was a constant bloomer again. After that experience, I began cutting the pods off of Stella and she started performing again. Making babies zaps the energy out of everything!!! We all start out someplace and most often you have to learn from your own experiences. Welcome to the world of daylilies!!! I no longer own STELLA D'ORO because I feel there are so many out there that are far superior and I sure don't want her around to bee pollinate any of my others.
