Need help Identifying this fig variety

Hello all,

I have this wonderful white fig but am not sure what variety it is. It is a one crop tree and was made from a cutting. The fruit is very sweet.

My initial thought was White Genoa but I believe they have amber not strawberry pulp. My next suspicion was desert king. I not very experienced in the different fig varieties and interested in learning and growing them.

Can someone offer any thoughts?

Incidentally if anyone in the forum is interested in cuttings from this tree I would be open to swapping with you.

I see some similarities between your fig and my Battaglia Verte:

Joe, That fig looks so good, and the leaf is attractive with the scalloped edge.
Do you have it in the ground or in a pot? When does it start ripening for you?
Was this a cutting from a family tree?
Sorry I can't help with identification.

Hey Guys I think I've got the mystery solved about the variety of this fig. Yesterday I got in touch with the nursery that sold it to me and told them what the problem was. They said they'd get back to me (I never thought I'd hear from them again). A few hours later the owner called me back to say he'd been in touch with the grower that sold them the plants. The grower said it could only be one of three varieties cause that's all he grows. The choices were Brown Turkey, Alma & Celeste. I know it's not an Alma, and pretty sure that it's not a Brown Turkey, so the logical pick would be a Celeste. Turns out that eden13 & herman nailed it at the get go. The details are not clear,in order to ID. You were supposse to show the fruit entire,first. Looking at the interior ,I can guess it is Stella. Also it looks unripe to me. If you want me to take a better guess,wait till another fruit is ripe but very well ripe,and then take a pix as entire another cut in Half ,and also place a quarter dollar coin,next to it.

Help needed Identifying Mango variety?

Yes I believe only polyembryonic mango seeds produce fruit true to its parent. Here's an article below that helps explain it the difference between monoembryonic and polyembryonic seeds. https://homeguides.sfgate.com/growth-mango-seeds-41463.html I have a Keitt mango tree and the fruits are a late variety usually August thru as late as Oct. here in central Fl. The fruits are quite large (up to 3 lbs) sometimes, also and they aren't round. the kents are smaller but they also are not round. There is a pretty good website that shows some of the common varieties grown in FL but there are SO many new ones come out all the time. But if it was grown from seed that is http://www.tropicalfruitnursery.com/variety-viewer-variety-mango-reference-4 If that was grown from seed there is a very good chance you may never know the variety? Is it stringy or has very little to now fibers? Usually if you have to floss after eating a mango it's probably seed grown, though Tommy Atkins is one that comes to mind that's known to be somewhat stringy. It is one of the most produced variety for shipping for super markets due to its very colorful skin when ripe and also ships very well...but taste is not the best for growing in your backyard.

One thing is for sure :it is not Desert King.
It is along the Line of Leon"s fig.
Can be Verte.

Not sure, but as fignut pointed out about the 'scalloped'
leaves (aka serrated, saw-tooth like edges?), I do have
a Verte fig specimen that has that. Just went out to check.
Older leaves (bottom) are smaller 3 lobed and highly
serrated. Younger leaves (top) are much bigger and much
less serrated but also showing signs of 5 lobes?!
Sorry no fruit yet...

Thanks for the replies everyone, it seems the consensus agree it is a Verte fig. Fignut: I got this tree as a cutting from my neighbor, it was his grandfathers tree. I need to find the origin of the tree.
I also have a Celeste from a cutting of my fathers tree.

These heirlooms are unique. To be able to taste the same fig our ancestors appreciated is truly a gift from the past.
