Linda, I liked SHT so much last year, I ordered two more (red is my favorite color). I now have 3 nice little clumps of it. Dot, Scared of a turtle? LOL! Actually, my brother-in-law has a small scar on his cheek where a snapping turtle bit him. My husband was holding the turtle while he was riding his bike and his little brother was sitting up on the handlebars...when the snapping turtle reached out and grabbed his face and wouldn't let go...Ouch! There were just kids, and they tell that story at least once a year...so I know it made quite an impact on them. :-) daffodillady, I think a lot of box turtles are used to people because they are so long lived and were probably kept as pets at some point in their lifetime. gg, Box turtles will eat just about anything if they are hungry (even dog food). We've had about a dozen or so through the years when our son was growing up. We had a mating pair that had 4-6 little ones every year. They'd stay awhile and then wander off. Kathy

I am aware of that and that is the reason they are going to be up against the deck. If they survive, they survive. If not, oh well. I have a few evergreens that survive here. I get a few mico-climates in this big yard. :) Ginny

FoxesEarth, I just love that daylily! (and combo). I've actually got the same 'white' daylily & lavender verbena combo, even with vinca! but I think its Joan Senior, along with another smaller pale yellow. This one is so much prettier and delicate, though. I, too, usually prefer the simpler forms, but this ruffle is just so delicate. We've got a double wild Tiger nearby and it is such a beauty. I've always loved just the simple, graceful daylily, since I was a young child ... and Lily of the Valley in Spring.

Your very first seedling is a very nice one. I would never have thought to cross something blue-eyed with Shores of Time. But, seeing that seedling, I think I'll try it. I can see how your daughter would like that marvelous miniature daylily. It's just her size. Matilda the Watch Cat made me smile. Keep posting your photos! Debra
