Rain yesterday...pretty blooms today (pics)

I don't know if it was the rain we had yesterday, but seems like my dl blooms are really pretty today...here's some for you to see.

Jill...you must have been posting at the same time I was, I missed you, sorry! :) Glad you enjoyed my dl's. Tammy...I'm sorry, I failed to answer your question about my camera. It's a Fuji Finepix S700. The macro and super macro capabilities are wonderful as is the 10x optical zoom. It really lets you get up close and personal with your blooms. LOL Shelly....I totally understand, my list just keep growing and growing and growing..kind of like that Energizer bunny, you know? :) I've had MM for a couple of years now, and it's really struttin it's stuff this season. FT is brand new and that was the FFO on it. It's one of my brightest dl's. Chris....You're gonna love AS, it's one of my favs, but then I've got so many fav's!! Jane-Hubbles Buddy was a bonus I got to choose from a list. I had no idea what it looked like, but liked the name. I'm glad I did! We are still cool with rain for 3 days, then warm up. Ellie-The only things opening all the way are spiders and ufs cuz it's been cool and cloudy here for days. The ufs don't curl and crispate, or whatever they choose to do until afternoon when it is warmest.It's interesting to see the difference in form and color with the temps. Betsy

I was just thinking before that my daylily bloom is deffinately much longer. Now the evergreens are new so they started earlier but what I was thinking of is my older dormants that I have had like ROCKET CITY AND SPELLBINDER, LIME FROST AND BOLD TIGER. They started last year on July 6th and were done before the end of June. Around the 26th I think. Here it is August 1st and those dormants are still blooming in my front yard. Started at the same time as last year again. I can see that theres not much buds left but still looking very good. So either because they have just been here longer or because there was lots of rain or what, I don't know, but the bloom season on them is deffinately longer that last year. Julie- I have lots of color because I worked very hard at planning it that way. I worked for years on this shrubby section of my yard to attract songbirds. As I was getting it closer to what I wanted some years ago, I thought it was just paradise in the spring but I needed more color in the yard. I wind up adding roses, more bulb lilies and eventually daylilies. I have lots of other flowers too that I forget to mention such as Purple Coneflowers, Sunflowers, Mexican Sunflowers, Milkweeds, lots and lots of Sedums, lots and lots of vining Honeysuckle, Joe Pie Weed, Catmints and Hummingbird Mints. I always use some annuals to help with the summer color and plant impatients by the flats in the shadier areas. But as I put in these new gardens last year with the terracing I had done, it was just really the icing on the cake as the gardens that were then able to be created are now some of the best garden beds in my whole yard.

Thanks everyone for the compliments on the roses and daylilies. The daylilies have had a great run this year and I expect next year to be even better. The roses have been stunning this year, even if I do say so myself. Roses, like daylilies, like lots of water and since we had all this rain all season long they just keep sending out the blooms. Jean- Your roses are really pretty. Glad that your ok there and that no trees fell near you with all the wind. Debra- I love lots of color in the yard and thats why I could never have ONLY daylilies. Something needs to be going on at the garden all the time. You seem to have gotten it right and adding annuals always helps. I plant lots of annuals each year myself.

Your blooms are beautiful and look like they have had plenty of water. I was noticing your Autumn Wood. I bought one and I don't think it looks anything like yours. Do you think I might have gotten the wrong plant or can soil and growing conditions make such a huge difference.

My Autumn Wood looks like yours down2earth, but yours might be more beautiful. Jan's sure is a perfect bloom, but it reminds me of one that I cannot think of the name now.

Jen: This is JN's first bloom season in my garden and he's showing out big time for me!!

Nicki: Both are new this spring in my garden. Pugsley was a bonus and today was it's first bloom. It's tiny, but I love it. CPD is one huge dl....and it holds up extremely well in our heat and humidity.

Chris: WI has been just beautiful. This is also it's first bloom season, and it's been going for a month now and there's still buds left to bloom on it. :) I've been trying to set some pods on her with JTD, but nothing so far. :(

Jane: I think I got WI from an LA seller Kingsbirdhouse last fall, and SM came from Ridaught's last spring.

Down2earth: My AW shows different colors at different times. Last year, it had some blooms more the color of yours. I think the heat may have something to do with the color, I know it affects the color of other dl's. Yours is a beautiful bloom too.

Jan, Wonderful group of flowers! Isn't it amazing what a little rain can do? We've had some showers here, too and I'm telling ya,,,I heard a big sigh of relief from all my plants.

Lovely Jan. I think a drink from the sky did them all good. Afterall, look what it did for BT. I am waiting for Pugsley to bloom here as I recieved it also as a bonus. I am not sure I like it though. I will wait and see. Your dls are beautiful as always...Ellie

They are all very pretty Jan! I like Pugsley, sure is pretty for a FFO! Ive been meaning to ask for a while, how do you get that label on your pictures with the name. Is that something you can do with photobucket? Haven't figured that out yet. -Jessica

Debra: Isn't FB something? She looks like a double of Seal of Approval to me. :)

Kathy: Yes, there is just no subsitute for a good old soaking rain, is there? It seems to just perk the poor old dried out plants right up in a matter of hours.

Ellie: Thanks, and I'm glad you got some rain also. I think Pugsley is a cutie, but I know you're not overly fond of bi-tones. If you don't like her you can probably send her on down to you sister's along with CC you got from Marietta! :)

Jean: Thanks Hon, glad you enjoyed seeing them.

Jill: I love AW too. This is SW first bloom season in my garden and that's a photo of it's first bloom. I'm not seeing much of the pink edging yet...but...hopefully it'll shape up soon. Hey, you never did come for that visit, and my blooms are sporadic at best now. I've got lots of rebloom scapes, and also late bloomers coming on, but the main show is all but over for me. Peak season this year was really weak in my gardens. I lost so many buds to the drought. But hey, glad to have you come anytime. :)

Jessica: I use PSP program I have on my pc, to put the copywrite watermark on my photos not Photobucket. Thanks for the compliments.

Ha, more pictures of Autumn Wood and Susan Weber here for looking at. With Autumn Wood, it was a case of seeing pictures of it on multiple posts until I just couldn't stand it anymore and HAD to order my own!
