Hello, everyone!

While I haven't visited this forum in quite some time now that spring is approaching I decided that it was time to start visiting more often once again. I can't wait to be able to get out, clean up the garden, and start planting!

I also wanted to share the news that an article about my and my parents gardens made it into the feb/mar issue of the Florida Gardening magazine. Bill, another member of this forum whose user name I can't remember much to my dismay, did a wonderful job on the article which is titled Positively Beautiful!

Where does one obtain this magazine ? I've never seen it but would like to get it.... thanx, sally

I know that you can get it at Barnes & Noble. You could probably get it at Booksamillion as well. It's a great magazine with lots of interesting aticles about florida gardening. It also includes an event calender for all types of garden shows throughout florida.

I have one issue, the last one with my article (and smiling face) in it. Re: Garden Design - I was just about to throw out all the old issues I have. I'll save them for the swap and you guys can have them. PS: I will have copies of both of my books for sale and will sign them!

According to my little brown book, Tropical edible Plantsfor South Florida Coastal Areas, bought at selby gardens in sarasota but also available at Mounts Agricutural Center in west Palm Beach, it's the only way they propagate. The leaf is supposed to be high protein and a major protein source for the Japanese soldiers in the Phillipines who did not surrunder after WW2. Any idea if Echo might have cuttings?

Hi All, The rules that govern HOAs vary. However, none can go against the Florida statues stated at the beginning of this posting. Many try. They use intimidation to get the homeowner to comply. Just stick to your guns and they association will have to back off because they have no jurisdiction. In addition, you can also plant any plant that is native and or saves on water usage. I think they stopped selling at newsstands. The festivals usually have a stand there. Maybe go online.
I have had a subscription for years and my hubby and I
keep every one; reading and rereading the articles.

Our Publix store carries it - if it is a Feb/Mar issue then they wouldn't get it till the first of March, probably way after it is delivered to other places.

just go to www.floridagardening.com and subscribe on line. I too, have taken it for years and keep every issue.

Yes GREAT magazine. Have also been taking it for yeas and save all of them. Well worh the money.

The local library carries it and you'll be able to look through back issues to see if you like it.
