You don't say where you are but here in Central KY several of the one's you mention either have no scapes yet or they are very small. Just be a little more patient.

Hi: I'm in Connecticut, Zone 5. Glad to hear that some of your's don't have scapes yet too. Guess I'm just being impatient. How long after they put up scapes do they actually bloom? Isn't it like a month? And ya know what, I just looked in my Daylily pictures in early June and I had a lot of my daylilies blooming, but they were brand new, maybe that explains it and it sure does explain why I feel like they are taking so long. Thanks for the input.

I am in Zone 5 as well and I only have one old daylily with a scape: Happy Returns. My other scapes are on daylilies sent from down south. My bloom season usually starts in early July.

I am in NJ zone 7 and mine all bloomed early this year. They were all starting to bloom by Memorial Day. Weird.

Thanks guys: Guess I'll just have to be a bit more patient. It's just I have allmost the whole front of my garden filled with these guys and am anxious to see them send up their scapes. Happy Gardening.

I'm still waiting for scapes on mine in Zone 5 - normally I don't see scapes till mid-June, and bloom by early to mid July. The only daylily bloom I've got right now is on a new arrival from down south. I'm impatient too, but I know they'll be popping up soon.

I am in Z4 and this year just about everything is scaped and some are starting to bloom (Moonlit Masquerade and Pure and Simple). This is amazing to me after the brutal winter we had and a drought of about 6 weeks that ended last week.

Here, we are about three weeks ahead of schedule.

Here in zone 7 ive only had my stella's, and one other bloom, but we have lots of scapes! Be patient, sounds like you may have had some spring sickness from the way you were describing your DL's leaves. Sometimes they take longer to bloom when they have that, cause they have to "grow out of it". Add that to the fact that your way up north, I wouldn't worry. They will bloom. I notice that when it starts getting warmer if you give them a BIG drink of water, mine start sprouting scapes over night. We had a thunder storm last night and bam this morning i found a lot of new scapes that weren't there yesterday. Isn't it funny how they just seem to appear out of no where? One morning your will find yours rising too! Be patient and hang in there! -Jessica

Oh no!!!!! I probably discouraged you by telling you my daylilies were all scaped up. Well, we have to understand that very often we have 'micro-climates' in our yards. In my case, we have acres of daylilies and I went down to the bottom land area to check on my daylilies there. There are about 30 varieties in that bed that probably takes up about an acre.

There is not a single scape in sight!!!! So, it certainly isn't a cultivar thingie. I think it is where the dayliles are located. The ones down there look perfectly healthy but are just sleeping in, I think.

Z5 here in NH and still waiting on scapes...

Thank you everyone, you all made me feel so much better, and guess what, a couple of my dl have scapes, yippy. And yes, the spring sickness is effecting some, bummer. But will just be patient, which is easier now some have scapes lol. Happy Gardening everyone and thanks for all your help.

I am also in CT but in zone 6. I have small scapes on a few and nothing yet on the rest. They should appear shortly for you.

My scapes were very sparse and had buds with no flowers. They are deep red in color. I just cut the stalks off. Is that ok?
What can I do for next spring?
