The Mystery-X Fig from T*T*

sandsquid

I'll admit it, I was curious about the "Mystery X Fig" hyperbole in their website:

The original Mystery X fig tree is reliable in producing heavy crops of fruit that ripens in July through September. The Mystery X fig tree was found growing near an abandoned slave cabin on an old Georgia Plantation.

So knowing I'd likely be throwing money away I ordered one "Mystery X" and one "TN Mountain Fig"

The "TN Mountain Fig" never budded out, it's DEAD.

The Mystery X fig is (much to my chagrin) actually doing quite well.

Here are some leaf close-ups in case anybody want to take a shot at early ID.

(Once/IF I get some fruit I'll post proper pictures.)

Also, if anybody wants any cuttings this winter, send me a e-Mail and I'll get you on the wish-list. FREE of course, but first preference will go to anybody who I am greatly indebted to for sending me cuttings last winter. No warranty of variety, suitability or plant health will be expressed, or implied, as this did come from the infamous Y*T* Nursery
