My plants are still confused...so many came from the south and we had an odd warm winter...I've got a couple MLs blooming already! Poor things, apparently they've got a rather big learning curve this year.

Really love the color on My Girl Marseilles Watercolor

Is it just me or does this daylily never open badly? Really love it. A Japanese anemone is bullying mine though, I think I'll need to move it next year.

Black Fathom Depths

Can't get enough of this one...neither can my daughter :D

Inherited Wealth (FFO)

Thrip damage, ugh. I don't use chemicals and the Murphy's Oil Soap mixture (I forget what I've heard it called) isn't quite doing the job.

Beautiful! Beautiful pictures, beautiful daylilies. Your daughter and kitty are both cuties. There are many of the blooms shown I could choose for favorite but I just have to go with Black Fathom Depths. Stunning!

Loaded fine for me. I think one photo thread per day is plenty anyway since they get bumped off the front page so fast this time of year.

Wow I love Redefined and Fairy! (and pope!) I've been browsing the Daylilies forum looking for some inspiration -- as I think about recovering from a dislike of them due to overexposure to the orangey yellow variety that is planted everywhere/grows like crazy, even naturalized, here in Michigan.

Thanks again to everyone for your very nice and encouraging comments. Always makes me want to improve as a gardener! hoovb. If I have enabled Y O U to a rose, I guess that would make me a Rosarian ;-)! I have to admit you are one of my garden idols! Carol, for some reasons Iceberg roses simply love Southern California and all the rain that we had this year has just let them explode into the spring flush. Beth, I am glad that you like my photos. As for the scrub jays, I don't recall seeing them the first two years that we have been here, but this winter suddenly they showed up at the feeder. Masha, I am always happy if someone likes my "White Bed". I guess there are people, who think it is just plain boring or too monotone, but I like to experiment with the nuances of white and find it very exciting! Krista, thank you so much for your wonderful compliment, that is rather flattering! I didn't know that your Mme. Ernest Calvat is also so young. It might be interesting to compare how our roses are doing in the very different climates that we are gardening in. Serena, it is always nice to have bird guests in the garden, isn't it? Thank you Jim, Pelicanhead, Harold, Carol, Florence and Iris Gal. Iris, I don't know if Desert Willow grows in Virginia. I bought mine from High Country Gardens after I saw their beautiful pictures and read the description. I have two of them since last year, but I overwintered them in the garage. This year they are in the ground and I am really worried about how they survive the winter. It will be a shame to lose them. They make such a beautiful lacy trees and they bloom all summer. Hummingbirds love this tree. Marina

Lovely Anika. I love Black Fathom Depths, so it has to be my fav. Daughter is precious and Matilda is a fine kitty and doing a great job of guarding.

Thanks for sharing your gorgeous photos here on Garden Web! Marseilles Watercolor is always exquisite, and the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis twins are just as beautiful and stylish as their namesake. Your very first seedling is a very nice one. I would never have thought to cross something blue-eyed with Shores of Time. But, seeing that seedling, I think I'll try it. I can see how your daughter would like that marvelous miniature daylily. It's just her size. Matilda the Watch Cat made me smile. Keep posting your photos!

Love the color on My Girl, and JKO is beautiful. Wonderful photo of Beautiful Edgings too. I hope you frame the photo of your daughter. Obviously Matilda did a good job, the seedling is a beaut.

Thankfully the guard cat keeps the squirrels away. We have Secret of NIMH-level intelligent squirrels in my neighborhood...they are positively diabolical!

Thanks for all comments...I don't have particularly fancy daylilies but I do really like learning how to grow them.

Marseilles Watercolor and Black Fathom Depths have that WOW factor for sure! Beautiful photos of them...and your daughter's photo and Matilda sitting like a statue made me smile.
