I noticed yesterday that on Black Eyed Stella and Raspberry Pixie that a couple of buds (not all) turned brown and shiveled.

Is this normal for new plantings (these have only been in the ground since early June) that some will open and others die off?

We've had rain (thunderstorms every afternoon)and I was afraid to water them anymore for fear of giving them too much water. Could they still need more?

Other possible reasons for some doing this?
