Intro & test photo

Hi everyone. I just joined GardenWeb yesterday, although I've been lurking on the daylily & iris forums for about a month now. I've loved seeing all your beautiful flowers!

I used to have some daylilies and bearded iris and various other odds & ends but sometimes life gets in the way and then one thing leads to another and somehow I've been gardenless for about 10 years now. Lately I've been really itching to get back into gardening. For the moment, however, I do not have any flowers of my own to show off.

Here is a truly lousy photo of what I believe are some ditch lilies, just to test if I know how to post photos here:

@ sjs56222 Thanks for the advice and comment about my plants. I found some natural remedies and am going to try those out today if they don't work I will try the Organocide. I noticed ants pouring out of the base of my jalapeno plant when I watered it but I cannot find any aphids. I'm going to spray with a light vinegar solution, sprinkle corn meal (kills the ants) on the soil and black pepper also. Like I said ealier the plants are already looking better. I will post some more photos in a few weeks when hopefully a few of my plants are really blooming. Can't wait! As far as postings pictures. It was a pain. I actually created the post in MS Frontpage and hand edited it in wordpad and uploaded the photos to a personal website (this site needs a easy way to post photos). You could upload your photos to this site: http://imageshack.us and try to embed or just post the link to the photo(s). @ chimayo_farmer Thanks for the info. I was on their website last night, it was wonderful! I should be in school there if I didn't live in Florida, must be great to be around a bunch of chili heads all the time. I'm going to email them some photos and will post any info they send my way.

Thank you for the comments. Unfortunately our internet has been down since late Thursday, back up for a short time on Friday and down ever since. They say we may have to wait till July 13 to get the internet issue sorted out on the ISP end. I had to go and get a Hotspot Mobile device so I can access the internet from home today. Mantis: The 2nd pic peony is labeled Victorie de la Marne. Hope I spelled that correctly.

Both terms are used worldwide. Galena "aka lead glance" is used in french , english, romanian , spanish(where i got my piece), portuguese, polish. italian and french. The other term, galenite, is used in nearly all slavic countires, germany, netherlands, mongolia,indonesia and partso f the middle east. The exception would be nordic countries, most reffing "blyglans" or " Lyijyhohde". I dont know how china, japan , korea, or the rest of the middle east call it. What is a "massive name" rob?

Welcome to the daylily forum and I am glad you decided to join in. As for not having any daylilies yet, all of us started somewhere and we can help you find ones you just have to have. One of the best things about daylilies is that while new intros are very pricey, older daylilies go for very reasonable (even cheap) amounts of money. You can have a stunning daylily garden no matter which you chooose as they are all really beautiful.

Those do look like ditch lilies to me.

Welcome, this forum is a busy place with lots of nice people and great enablers. Hope you can start your garden soon, or at least you can start planning and making your wish lists!! We all have those.
