Wow, so many scapes and buds in that last shot. Primal Scream really is a gorgeous daylily, too bad those thrips have bothered it.

Don't know which to say is my favorite as there are many choices that I like so much. I am thinking Russian Easter, it always looks great here also. But I really like Velvet Eyes also.

Love all your photos! My favourite is Hillbilly Heart. It is such a pretty daylily! If I ever see that one at any garden centre I will be sure to buy it. I also like Shelby Summer Blush, Lake Norman Spider and Primal Scream. My Melinda was one I bought new this year. I hope mine does as well as yours.

Nice bright yellows, my favorite is Black Eyed Stella. I always get it confused with my Black Eyed Susan daylily which had its first bloom here today. Like your Vernal Tutone too, & those wonderful lilies!

It is just that the heat has been oppressive. Well, not the heat but the heat and humidity combined. It is just as hot today, maybe two degress cooler but the humidity is down so I am working in the garden. I am a summer person and I don't mind summer weather until it gets overly oppressive. Yesterday was the worst! Chris that daylily in the backround is Ruby Shadows. Jean, Hearts Of Fire has been blooming for weeks and weeks. I think I I posted a picture of it once. Its only July and that late bloomers bed is blooming. Each year the daylilies seem to start earlier and earlier. I used to have the late bloomers in August but now look. And summers seem to be hotter. Or maybe it's just my old age!

Raptor Rap and Hillbilly Heart are looking great in those group shots. Lake Norman Spider is a beauty, and I know what you mean about wishing it were taller. My Melinda is a real workhorse - small but mighty in buds.

These are great. The pic of HILLBILLY HEART shows just how many blooms it can handle without seeming to overcrowd each other. I see you have a ladybug (on HB) guarding your blooms.

Joe Marinello is a pretty one. I have had Hillbilly Heart since the fall of 2007 and it just doesn't do real good here in central Illinois, just about lost it a couple of times. I think it is established now so hoping for a good year with it.

They are really pretty! I like Lake Norman Spider. Very nice all ngraham. Primal Scream is always a favorite of mine. Your bloom is really picking up now, isn't it?

Hillbilly Heart looks beautiful every time I see it. Certainly that's the case in your yard. Also really like Velvet Eyes.

Rita, Primal Scream has really multiplied this year so I'm expecting a lot of blooms. I picked up some something to spray for thrips, I think it has helped. I've just sprayed the buds themselves though because I didn't want to kill any good critters. Still, I can see that newer buds are looking better, so blooms should improve. Maybe cicadas are doing some damage here, I hear them & see one occasionally, but not like I had expected from all the talk.
Jason, I imagine My Melinda will do great for you. I have several clumps of it around the garden & need to divide again, it multiplies really fast.
I really like Hillbilly Heart, it hasn't been blooming but 2 or 3 days, but each day it has had 4 or 5 blooms. I've always love the dark eyes on a dark red daylily like Velvet Eyes too, so striking I think.
Kay, bloom is really picking up, just the last couple of days really.

I have to go check how my Primal Sceam is doing to see if it has scapes yet. Mine hasn't increased that much the past few years as I had moved it around so much. Leaving it alone now !

I don't know why some daylilies never get thrips and others seem to get lots.

I'm always amazed at how well My Melinda blooms, I have others that bloom really well, but I they aren't as big a clump as My Melinda.
It is crazy, isn't it Rita, how the plants all around one covered with thrips can be unaffected. I don't know quite what attracts them, maybe scent.
Sarah, I'll take some pictures of my border, but my garden isn't nearly as pretty as others here. I don't try to match things or anything, I buy a new perennial or daylily & plop it wherever I have a spot. I wish I were better at it.

Nacy- I think your gardenbeds are very pretty. Everyone's gardens are different and I love to see garden views to see how things go together in the garden.

I found my Primal Scream and it has scapes but they are small yet so it will be awhile before blooms.

Regal Giant and Russian Easter are my number one and two pick but the rest are pretty nice to.
