Good Tuesday morning, everyone! Here are a few pictures for today:

'Night Beacon,' an old favorite of mine.

'Dominic,' new to me this year, and I already love it.

FFO on another seedling.

Second flower on my cinnamon-cream seedling, with more cinnamon shading this time.

That's a great photo of Dominic. It's so beautiful, but a hard one to photograph. You really captures the true color and its dark, velvety look. It will be interesting to see how your bitone seedlings develop.

Beautiful pictures..I WS Malva Zebrina in 2009 and it came back this year but not as strong. Something has been eating the leaves. I sprayed but last year it was much taller. That maltese cross is a beauty and I like it with sundrops. Is this the first time you have grown sundrops? They spread fast but are always so pretty. I had them at my former home for years. We called them "Aunt Pearl's flowers" because my husband's favorite Aunt gave us the original plants. You'll find them everywhere you didn't plant them if you have a windy spell in the winter or early March, just like forget-me-nots..and Johnny Jump-ups too. The wind carries the seeds and plants them wherever!

Hi Mike, Well done. I've been thinking of you and your clivias these past few months as we, kind of, challenged each other last year on the bloom for this year. You certainly won. I had a couple of stuck umbels and that was it.... I watch your "mark" on the forum as I'm in a similar weather zone that you're in (cold winters) and you have more experience. Took your and Al's advice. Got those clivias in the gritty mix early this year and I think I'll be better able to take the challenge next year! Gail

Your hostas look so nice. Especially Hope. My little baby struggled to come back this year, and is doing okay in a pot, but hasn't grown a whole lot. Hopefully it put out a bunch of roots and will be bigger next year. I love the pergola garden. That's so awesome! My boyfriend tore down the back porch roof yesterday and I was thinking of doing something similar to this over the porch, to let in some light but still keep the shade. Plus it'll look nicer than a plain old roof. I may have to show him this photo, and perhaps next year redo and expand the back porch into a patio and put a pergola-like roof over it, or at least part of it. Karen

Thank you, Krista. I'm very much looking forwards to seeing more mature blooms of this rose, which will hopefully look more like what I've seen in pictures. Still, I got quite a thrill when I saw this pretty little bloom. boncrow, I would say 3-4 years and it's still growing. I'm now having to prune it a bit so it doesn't encroach on the other roses or look out of balance in relation to the smaller ones. I bought two more SdlM specimens exactly one year ago and the bigger one is about 2 1/2 feet tall and slightly wider. It has many buds on it. The second one, which is in a shadier spot is only about 18 inches across and 20 inches tall and has no buds. I fertilized some of the roses yesterday and I hope the little one will begin to grow a bit faster.

Dominic is my all around favorite here while I prefer the first of the two seedlings.

Your first seedling looks similar to KAREN SUE which I like the bitone ones. Your doing good on your seedlings.
DOMINIC reminds me of MOONLESS NIGHT. Nice dark rich color.
