Sorry for not getting back, just looked at this post. The more I play with this kitchen, the more I agree with the architects vision of leaving the range on the pantry/laundry wall. @mammagoose, how long do you suggest for the range wall? it is currently drawn 8’6”. As far as the bathroom, yeah DH wants it left there, as per architect’s design. I definetly prefer a square shape island but just havent figured out how to make software behave the way, I want it to. Lol Here are a few ideas that I have contemplated:

IMO a good stainless hod with no wood surround is the best choice .

Is it algae? Is the roof in shade? What part of the US? do you live in? Do you have the same type of roof/ siding on the other side of the house & does it look like this side?

I never really had a green thumb and had given up on plants. Two years ago I got one houseplant for each of our 11 grandloves. I didn't put much effort into learning about them at that time, but paid attention enough to keep a few of them alive. One in particular, my purple passion (her name is Pamela) caught my eye because she made her way into two other pots and was so beautiful (she's all back together in one glorious pot). I then did some research on the plants I had and took care of them accordingly. They began to thrive! I then found that I have a love for rescuing doomed plants. I have a peace lily who was a complete goner and now she just threw her second leaf. I would say my favorite plant is Simon, my heartleaf philodendron. Parts of him now live with my son and daughter in law. I love trailing/vining plants, but every one I have is special! I have a decent assortment, but I'd really love more! We're on social security, so I have started several of my babies from cuttings, successfully. My dream plant is a monstera. Thanks for setting me straight as to how to post here. This is my very first experience. I hope I didn't offend anyone!
