Split on trunk
Comments (4)Gents, thanks for the feedback. It was a special order that was shipped to me direct from a neighboring state. It appears the damage occurred prior to delivery as I don't see any green. I'll take a closer look to see if further damage is possible from wind. The break is facing northeast which this time of year the prevailing winds tend to come from the south or west. If it was a broken branch I'd just snip it. This is the first time I've encounter this type of split. Eitherway my best option may be to remove the branch to avoid even potential for further damage. I just hate pruning red oaks this late in the season but I guess its pruned anyhow....See Moresingle main trunk
Comments (6)With the assumption you recently received this less than a month ago I would have to ask is it in same pot 1 gal again I'm guessing. If so has it put on growth leaves and growth? If Yes with soil moist see if you can pull out intact all soil and roots if yes pot up do not disturb roots. If Not leave it alone and let it adapt and get a good root ball then pot up when you are comfortable with growth and leaf formation. Most if not all figs will send out suckers if you want a bush leave these alone, a single trunk trim them to stump. If you see good growth but whip like no branching then pinch the tip it should branch from there and continue as you wish obviously when you see sufficient growth again. Figs can easily put on 3-6 Ft in one season even when that young. I say this from experience and I've only been growing my own figs for 2 yrs. There will be others that will advise with more experience but I wouldn't touch it until is starts showing some vigorous growth and a nice root ball Sal...See MoreSplit trunk
Comments (9)To upload pictures, you just plug in your camera or your phone to the computer, save the pictures on your computer, go on Photobucket (You can easily make a free account if you dont have one), and press the download button on your main page. Then select the pics you want. Once they are all downloaded on to your Photobucket you can click on a picture. That will open up a new page with the picture you clicked, only larger. Keep your eye to the left side as you scroll down that page. You should see some links (4 to be exact). Using your mouse, copy the HTML link (3rd one down) and paste it on your messages here. When you click preview, your picture should be there. If you want to upload more pictures, copy and paste the links to those pictures and they should all appear on your message! Comments (57)From 3 weeks ago, what do you not understand about dan1888 22 days ago last modified: 22 days ago It's not going to magically fix itself. The problem is in a limited area where the upper loft area transitions into a bedroom. This is a few square feet. Just take it apart and fix it. AND/OR You don't need blessing from strangers to handle problems like this. If you can't live with the way it is,it has to be fixed. Create a paper trail asking builder to handle it (and other "back peddled" issues). If he doesn't follow through, hire someone to do it and keep records of process. If it was indeed a matter of hvac installer cutting out where they shouldn't,the builder owe's you for what you spent fixing it. If you can't prove origional work was sub-standard,builder owe's you nothing but at least the floor is the way you want it. And other similar suggestions? I've seen some pant-waists in my time but you have them all beat....See Morewild_forager
