Anyone close enough to Jax is invited to a get-together, plant swap on Oct 5th here in Jacksonville.

You can put plants you have to trade/plants you would like to have on this thread.

I will go ahead and start a list here but can easily move my list. Check my member page also.
Items I Have

Wild Ferns in my backyard
Wild Palmettos in my backyard (local only b/c the roots are huge unless you want to pay for shipping)
Curcuma
Mexican Petunia
gardenia seedling
Curcuma

Other items in my yard.. I can send cuttings of or a small portion depending on the item

Hydrangea -varigated one and a nikko blue

Ivy .. not sure what kind but it is green with white

Small oak tree .. I think it is an oak.. but if I can't find it a home I will look into moving it .or may just stay..I don't want to kill it.

Azealas
Mondo grass
Blueberries (something for zone 9)

Dwarf Banana
Did I mention that I love hydrangeas? :-) I love flowers in general esp. if the plant has nice foliage. I prefer double flowers over single ones.
Bicolor flowers or varigated plants too.

Food- I am open to bring what ever is needed. Maybe a cassarole? A desert? Drinks?

There are a few members in this forum, who signed up for the swap and have still not answered any followup emails/messages from me which requested an update. It is a massive task to keep track of everyone in this swap, and I didn't think I was asking too much to let me know if you've changed your minds and no longer want to participate - or to take a quick second to let me know your seeds are in the mail. I will not mention any names, but this is to notify those individuals, that I have no choice but to assume you are no longer in this swap. If your envelope arrives without any communication from you, it will be sent back "return to sender". I just wish you could have taken a second to send me a message....it would have saved me a great deal of time with followup. IF YOU HAVEN'T MAILED YOUR SEEDS, IT'S TOO LATE NOW...DON'T SEND THEM. Thanks to everyone who took a moment to keep me up to date by posting updates or sending me an email. Your communication makes this job of coordinating the swap, so much smoother. Thanks again.

Newish to SA by way of the DoD. Just saw this posting. Bought a new house and have been going crazy with landscaping, granted it seems to be a tad different than what you all do. Is this once a year or other? If once a year, would there be interest next uear for any of the following: Goji berry Honeyberry Blueberry southern Pink lemonade blueberry Brown turkey fig Everbearing fig Pineapple guava Named versions of dragonfruit (purple haze, American beauty, and another. May have other types ready to propagate by then) Pomaagranet If I can acquire good root stalk I have some great, sweet kumquats, sutsumi. Can not guarantee Meyers lemon would be ready. Loquat And this bush that grow REALLY good here. Stayed green all year and has maroon/reddish thistle haired type of flower or something. Pretty sure I can root cuttings as this thing grew from 2ft to about 5ft in 8 months And if interested may pull up rootball for this black leaved crape myrtle. It was planted in yard, thought it was dead in the winter and mowed over 3" new growth. Just seeing as some of my stuff may take time to graft or root.

Hi, everyone! Mmmm, apple cider doghnuts. I've only had those once, and we ate the whole bag within 15 minutes of leaving the orchard. They're scrumptious! Ollierose, I try to know the botanical names for the plants I grow, (or at least list them with it) so I only look up botanical names that seem really familiar, because those may be seeds I can send in and I'm just not making the right mental connection. If I don't recognize it at all, it's not something I can send in. If you want to look things up, the fastest way I've found is 1. have the google toolbar 2. type the Latin and the word plantfiles 3. read all about it. That's also my first step in deciding if I want a plant, but I always look them up on a few sites, because they all have inaccuracies sometimes. I like to increase my chances for trades by making it easy for the trader to know that I have what they want, or they have what I want, by using both common names and latin. Except I'm sure I've neglected to do that completely :) It's another cold, grey day, and I have so much garden cleanup to do, still perennials to get in the ground, plus a couple hundred bulbs--but all I want to do is sit in front of the woodstove with my tiny kitten!
