WANTED: Ricky's Swap-a-Que Invitations

If you've never been here before:

Our garden is in a gated community with a manned guardhouse. What you'll get in a reply to your e-mail (the link below) is an invitation that will get you past security and a set of explicit directions so you don't get lost.

I will be cooking around 25 pounds of Boston Butt to make pulled pork. We'll also have a couple of cases of bottled water. I have an 8'x8' Ez-Up to provide shade in the driveway and there is lots of lawn space on our neighbor's yard available to us.

In the past, we started at 10am. I'm going to bring on the throngs an hour earlier since the day just seems to go by too quickly. You can start swapping plants whenever you are ready. We'll eat lunch at noon and I give tours of the garden all day long. However, feel free to explore on your own!

If you are Croton collector, I have over 300 varieties in the ground and will be more than happy to cut you a piece of many of them just before you leave. Please bring your own ziploc baggies to take them home.

If you have no plants to trade, fear not! You will not go home empty handed. As a matter of fact, not only will I insist that you take something, most of the other swappers will be shoveling plants into your car when you are not looking as we get close to the end of the day.

*Wild Mustang is a pale lavendar with deep blue/purple fantasy. (I showed a very blury pic on the other post)
*Georgia is a pink/magenta bloom.
*Ma's Midland Fantasy is white with lavendar fantasy.
I have a *Blue NOID and another *Pale purple blending to deep purple NOID-both are Optimaras.

Great Treefrog, would you like a chump of my tomatoe stake plant (bamboo)? :-) It is really usefull around here.... I would love the papaya. If you still have any red sugar apple left I would like one. (This are self polynating right?, I already have one regular one growing, have not had fruit yet). What else can I bring for you? Veronika Tony, are those self polynating variety? I would not mind having 2 varieties growing. I may have a avocado seedling. It self started under our avocado tree, it is about 2ft now. Our tree is the large fruit with smooth skin, very very tasty!!! I will look at it more closely tomorrow and see if it can be dug up. I'm looking for "air-plants" to tuck into my Palmetto hedge. Things that will grow without soil, and with minimal care. The area is dappled shade, and gets early morning sunlight. I can trade Siam Ruby Bananas, Kiwis (male and female), Dragonfruits, and many other fruiting plants. Have both types of Moringas if anyone wants me to start some. Back home already, sorry I couldn't stay for the delicious food, but I had a great time and it was pleasure meeting you all.. well those who were there before 1pm. I'm a little mad at myself, because I forgot three of my trade plants near the curb by the walkway to the backyard. The sweet corn is the one I'm most sad about... oh well..there's always next year right.. If you don't mind I would love to come. I have not been to a swap ihere in a couple of years but used to host them when I was living in CT. Who wants a plumeria? It's falling over and rather than replant it (I have 2 others same red-wine pinwheel flower)I want to plant another color in this spot.

it's about 3 feet with two scrawny branches that could be trimmed.

Hey Cliff. All the other plants got hauled off with the yard clippings this morning. I was able to go find some seeds on my remaining bush for you though. They should grow really fast for you. I had to make room by clearing out the extra ones I had for Tony's raspberry he is bringing me. I am putting it over by my grape arbor so it gets watered and watched better than the last one he gave me. See you at the swap, my friend!
