HAVE: Lots of Bamboo (many types all are clumpers)

I would like to trade for Dwarf fruit & nut trees or at least fruit trees that will do well in 25 gal containers and can the handle pruning needed to keep them small.

Some of these bamboos I have already in containers of different sizes from 3 to 15 gallon. Others I will dig up and stabilize to trade. Most of these plants will be topped off at approx 12 foot tall to ease in transplanting to containers and then transport.

I'm afraid what I have to offer wouldn't be worth the postage for your bamboo (tho I would love to try some someday.) But if you're interested in calamondin, a small, sour citrus great in marinades and cocktails, I have some seeds. I'm told it grows well in pots, though I inherited mine in the ground. And I know it grows true from seeds, unlike most citrus.

It's a fruit I love and hard to find from the usual sources, so if you're interested, send me an email and I'll put some in the mail. (wish I could think of a way to transport bamboo for 43 cents, but barring that, my seeds aren't worth a trade.)

Hey Zinnia, In the North they are not as invasive, but all "running" bamboos should be "CONSIDERED" invasive, just like "grass" per se. Didn't see much on your trade list. I have a "WANT LIST" - check it out and see if you have anything for me. Thanks

Mike- Whoa! Yeah- with 25 yrs in Minnesota you can appreciate my situation :) D sundazing- last year was my first year experimenting after I discovered coldhardy bamboo/bananas. Have appreciated the good info/ideas from these forums. I was happy the Fargesia murielae survived the winter at all. I got 3 gal size, about 36in tall- just recv'd two more a couple weeks ago (Bamboo HQ- wonderful folks). I didn't see any real height increase last year but got some new culms- assumed they were getting adjusted. With some moderate mulching effort they stayed green near ground all winter (-17F and lots more cold weather/blizzards) and are now leafing out even up at last year's tops. I thought I'd have to cut them back but I waited and they began leafing out in mid-March here. I was after the 15 ft height & typical boo fast growth as well but I think I'll just have to be more patient I guess especially given the climate here. How are yours doing overall-greening up,etc? Many runners can stay in clumps for several years. I've often dug bamboo where people told me they had clumpers, but didn't know what they had. When I saw it, it was a runner that hadn't run...yet.

PVP, we have moved the MTPS location to Henry Horton Stae Park which is a straight shot east over 412. It is only 75 miles from you. Take a vacation day on Saturday May 17th and come join us again. I was giving away 50 gal trash bags of Daylilies one year and I didn't care if anyone swapped with me or not. Actually Lavonne and I don't really need anything but if something really cool comes along we swap for it. Mostly we just want to give it away and hang out with everyone.
