I know your surgery date is approaching quickly and I just wanted to wish you a speedy recovery! You know we'll be thinking of you!

Cindee ~ I'm thinking about you also. What is the date of your surgery, so that good vibes can be sent your way on that day?

You GO, Girl! I know you'll be fine and wondering why you didn't do it sooner. Best wishes for a very speedy recovery!
(I think the surgery is scheduled for 12/6. Is that right?)

It is sad, Cindee, but true... and also a little bit funny at the same time... every day begins with strong coffee, a menthol cigarette, and a handful of prescription drugs! Without the latter, I'd be lucky to get as far as the bathroom... and then I'd be stuck there until Larry came to help! It's horrible to rely on narcotics to live a semi-normal life, but thank God they're available... the alternative is unthinkable! In fact, the last couple of months have really been bad... and this is the wrong time of year for me to have problems! I have so much physical work to do outdoors that I don't have time for this! It makes me angry that my body won't cooperate... it's very frustrating! But, since whining and complaining never get me anywhere, I pop those pills and dig in, getting done what I need to... I'm pretty lucky, actually... some day, it might be a lot worse. "Mother Earth" suits you well, Cindee... you're definitely that nurturing type of woman... strong, yet sensitive and caring... able to leap tall buildings in a single bound... it's SuperCindee! Dennis is a lucky guy! We're quite the pair... the "Hag" and the "Old Bat"! Hee-hee! How did we end up with such nicknames?! Since my kids couldn't visit, I got phone calls from all of them yesterday! They never forget my Birthday or Mother's Day, even though I'm just the Stepmom! We clashed constantly and always bumped heads while they were growing up, but apparently, I did something right... they always remember the important days and acknowledge me... these are the rewards of raising children! It's these phone calls to say "I love you" that fill my chest to near bursting! I'm so proud of them! Last night, Larry took me out late to grab something to eat, and he stopped along the roadside to cut a huge bouquet of Lilacs for me! When I got in the car, I wondered why there was a bucket on the back seat floor with about 2 inches of water in it... well... I should have some rooted cuttings to plant fairly soon! All different shades of lavender and purple... they'll make for a beautiful garden backdrop as they grow tall! What a scent, also! The whole apartment smells like Lilacs this morning! Mmmmm! So, even though it rained and was a crummy day yesterday, it turned out a lot better than I thought it would! And today... the sun is shining and the birds are singing! It's 7:07 am, central time... I've had a half a pot of coffee, too many cigarettes, and my handful of medication... very soon, I'll trade in my pink fuzzy robe and slippers for a pair of sweats and my barn boots, and off I'll go to get the kennel fed and cleaned, snap some new photos of what's blooming now, and grab my little estate shovel for a day of compost pile turning and moving, seed starting, plant planting, and anything else I can think to do while I'm out there! I hope everyone had a glorious day yesterday, regardless of the weather! And I hope today is just as wonderful! Happy Gardening!

I like the shape of the vase... and I like the fish! I miss having my aquarium set up... I have a 20 gallon high with all the equipment, just sitting out in the garage... I got it as a Christmas present a few years ago, and since we moved, haven't had the chance to set it up and fill it with fish. Our next move should be our last, and I plan to set it up and enjoy it's peaceful bubbling and swimming fish, once again. Watching an aquarium is very relaxing... the sound of the water bubbling through the filters, and the little schools of fish darting back and forth... I always loved having an aquarium. I love that little Buddha! He always looks so cute sitting with your bulbs! I'm very interested in being a part of the Edensbulbs order, Soultan... I've just sent you an email!

Hey y'all. Thank you so much for the well wishes! We have been having some issues so forgive me for not getting here. The dr gave us some meds that have kept me pretty much knocked out. I can't remember what I told y'all already so if I repeat myself...sorry! We spent the day of the accident in the hospital. They did xrays and ct scans on both of us. They showed swollen vertebrae in my neck. DH may have torn something in his shoulder. Did a follow up at our regular dr on Wed I think. He said I had a displaced vertebra from my muscles spasming. Gave me muscle relaxers to try to loosen those up. Said I may need to go to physical therapy for shock treatments if they don't get better. Then will need to see a chiropractor to put the vertebra back into place. Still wait and see on DH's shoulder. We've both had a good bit of pain and headaches since it happened. They ended up totaling our van so we are without a vehicle. Y'all know how much running I have to do with these kids so getting them where they need to be has been a challenge. The insurance didn't give us enough money to replace our van so we'll most likely have a payment again if we can find one we like. It's a big mess. Hoping a few more weeks will set us back to rights, but I've had a lot of people tell me it takes a long time to recover. The only painting I've done is for the church Halloween party which was last night. One of the ladies asked me to draw up a witch for pin the nose on the witch. I had a big roll of white paper so I used some to draw her out on that without the nose and painted her. She looked pretty good. Then drew out and painted 50 noses. They thought she was awesome! I wanted to paint today, but I have to clean off my desk. I need to run to the grocery in a bit while my mom can loan me her car and then maybe I can get started when I get back. Tonight is trick r treat here. Hopefully DH will feel like taking them so I can stay home. I'm not feeling it. Couldn't find all my decorations so I didn't decorate much this year. It snowed 2 days here last week. I guess that's all I have to report. Sounds like you all are keeping busy. Talk to you all again soon. ~Anj

Please excuse the hijack anitamo. Those who have been through this know. You "handle" it until something pushes a button, which anitamo's post evidently did for me, especially Pal's link to the soft caps as I was talking about that with my sister the other day. I so appreciate the support, ladies. I'm super private as I believe it's impolite really to burden others. Everyone has problems, tragedies and crises in the course of a lifetime -- no one needs anyone else's. I believe in sharing the happy stuff -- I put up 2 favorite recipes on a new thread mtn started. Both really delicious. I've always had a very high stress tolerance and have an ability to thread my way through chaos. But losing younger siblings is a killer even when you're not close. My next younger brother passed suddenly 4 years ago. Now my sister is sliding away. It's like standing on a large island that's your life/family history and watch huge chunks fall off. I don't mind it changing me. I always have been lucky and I'm blessed in so many ways in this life. But my sister has had much to overcome and not a great deal of happiness. The idea that she must go so early and with so much pain and disability seems really cruel. Enough. Thank you all for your good thoughts and prayers. Big hugs to you. I so appreciate the empathy and support. It really helps.

Cindee just a reminder that I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Now remember be a good girl and do what the doc says and don't give Dennis a hard time or he won't build you any new things for your yard!! LOL

Gee guys, thanks so much! My surgery is Wed. the 5th. We got to be at the hospital by 5:45 in the morning which is goo...I will be 1/2 awake!

Haven't been posting lately as I am trying to get odds and ends tied up, house cleaned, laundry, groceries, and last of the Christmas presents out. I am starting to get antsy about the surgery and trying to keep busy. Thanks to all of you for sending your sweet thoughts and good vibes my way. God Bless...I'll see you soon!

Cindee, want to add my 'speedy recovery' to you for tomorrow's big day. You'll be so glad you went ahead and before you know it, you'll be ready for that second hip.

Cindee, you are seizing the day and tomorrow begins your journey towards a better life and most definitely a better lifestyle. Lee had a hip replacement before I met him and he was playing golf up until he broke his leg three years ago. You have been placed in the arms of the angels and in the arms of Jesus and they are carrying you as I type this. Tomorrow will be over and gone before you know it and then you will do the other hip and there will be no stopping you in the garden, attending plants swaps, etc. May you find peace of spirit today to take you calmly into tomorrow. PS when you feel better you and Marion and Kristi and I can not believe my mind has gone blank on the other part of this group (you know who you are and I love you you butterfly gardener you) will have to plan a trip to Disney and I will show you all a good time. Remember I can get those hotel rooms discounted 40% and I have an inside connection with the mice.

Cindee, I just spent the last hour in the hot tub, where I toasted you and sent you some loving healing energy. I am sure you will bounce back quickly since you wanted it so badly.
