SlimeyOkra, your weather sounds much like ours. It's been a VERY dry spring - only had 4/10 of rain so far - which has been very welcome given all the flooding we've had here for the past four years. Some of the farmers around us are finally reclaiming some of their land. :) We don't really grow greens most years, but have been eating asparagus and rhubarb for over a week now. I'm still putting out transplants, which isn't unusual for early June for us. Tomatoes and peppers and pole beans are the last to go out. I don't do much fussing to get early crops. The peas are up nicely, though. This year was the earliest I've ever gotten them planted!

I've been cutting mine back because they look so rough. I figured it's less that the poor plant had to try to water. I need to get some fertilizer, but the shop I stopped at the other day was out and I didn't make it to the other place on the other side of town yet-but I'm not sure if they even carry it. It's more of a feed and grain/farm supplies. A couple that had tried to go dormant are perking back up after a few rains (finally). I'm wondering about winter too. The birds are already flocking and starting to disappear. I hope they are just looking for food and not telling us something.

Like the looks of your LSSM, BKay. The leaves have a satiny gloss to them, the edges are precise and overall there is an architectural feeling to the plant. It might as it ages get a slight wave on, but I like some hosta to have flat leaves, it rests the eye. A medium to large is a great size for limited space. Have you tried tall market umbrellas, BKay? Put a small table and chair close by, so the neighbors won't think you are loco, if that bothers you. I don't worry, me....they know I'm nuts! Rosedale Golden Goose is scaping now. When they are short, they don't show up easily, but I was poking around. Do not know how many I've done today, but I used about 2 bags of mini pine nuggets and 2 big bags of MiracleGro plus my crushed crab shells, and spagnum peat. My back is killing me, scraping the bottom of the mix barrel. I've about got the routine down, if I don't weaken! Here is Rosedale Golden Goose. Another gold, I might add. Jane, so glad you are giving your foot time to heal before your next surgery. It would be awful to not have at least one good one. I had foot surgery on my right foot 12 years ago and couldn't drive for 2 months. It was a year before I could do a full run and feel comfortable. I couldn't even ride a bike for a few months.LOL DD's BDay is Jan. 14th so that's what gets me out shopping after Christmas. It's always so cold but she's so special I have to! DGD's BDay is coming soon and she wants her party here again. May get to use some of my neat dishes again.Yeah DS came down today but didn't get to see DGD. We did alot of cleaning and yard work so that worked out good. Didnd't make it to the cemetary till late this afternoon because we were so busy. We will have all the family home over the 4th so have alot to do around here to get ready. I always tease my family they come and visit to keep me on top of things. Jeanne, the small star candle holders are from Dollar Plus. The lg center one is crystal and I picked up the other two at ys. Your the reason I always light my tables. Thanks for the comments on the flowers. They look better in RL but I didn't want to go take any more pictures. I need you here to help in that dept.haha I have a bush in one of my gardens that reminds me of your honeysuckle but it's blooms are pink.
