Finally a sunny day.

We have had non ending clouds, cold and rain. Finally today was nice, only in the low 50's but it seemed so warm after all the rain. The bulbs are just about at peak, and I now officially have all daylilies accounted for!! YIPPEE, none lost over that winter we had. I'm very excited about that. Clothed in Glory finally showed some green. It was the last one to show up.

This is a new Daffodil, WAVE, I really like it, it is a double with a very strong stem, no flopping on this one.

Whiskey is my new garden helper, won't let me out of his sight, and he has fun too. He had his second trip to the Vet, for a second round of shots, and is feeling much much better. ( I have to keep him now!)

He ran up the cherry tree as I was finishing getting the azaleas in, it was so wet lately, I couldn't finish planting them but was able to do that today. This is such a funny pic, cause Whisk was running down the tree as I took the picture,

Guess Bowie thinks gardening is just starting, so he better rest up for it now,and let Whisky do his share first.haha.Your gardens are so full of Daffs, dont look like you have room for all the daylilies.I love that Pink daff.Its real pretty.Glad you had a nice sunny day.It was cloudy here most of the week, too and rather chilly the last few days.

Glad you were able to get a sunny day finially. It was sunny but very windy here today. Still I spent the day outside mulching and of course gakking at my flowers. Looks like you (and Whiskey and Bowie) have lots and lots of flowers in your yard in gawk at and they are all so pretty.

I see lots of blue with the grape hyacinths and I think I see the regular blue hyacinths there too. Love your garden shots and love your pink daffs.

Man, I really need to get a greenhouse. All my cacti are still in winter hibernation, snug and dry under the porch roof. Time to move them out into the elements, I think. May is the big cactus bloom time at my place. Nice to see your plants. They are about two months ahead of mine ;-( Brad

We've had a stretch of several lovely days here - frosty but once the morning fog burns off, wonderfully sunny and clear and eventually even semi-balmy, temperature wise. What a difference a couple of weeks makes! Unfortunately, I had to work through most of them, but did get out for a bit on Saturday. Dotty, I have no idea what bulk soil/amendment suppliers are available in your area, but pretty much any type of mulch you like should be available through them now. Or you could research tree services in the area who might have wood chips for you, and most likely for free.

Thanks Amy! I think I cheated on the penstemon, they had flower buds when I got them, being fresh pot bound nursery plants and all this year. I do have a penstemon that was supposed to be P. mensarum but I'm fairly certain it's not it hasn't flowered yet so I don't know what it is. I also have a couple P. pinifolius that haven't flowered yet either and a P. eatonii that is still just a rosette. Hey! If you swing by my newest post (Hiking) I have some pics of P. virens and P. secundiflorus that are going crazy at work!

Sunny today here (although cold) and yes, so welcome! We tend have a high average number of overcast days in winter, but it sure seems that sunshine has been scarcer than usual. I've become acclimated to temps in the 20s also -- most years that would be only about 2 weeks sustained in that range. Those winds yesterday -- I was out for a jog and the gusts would stop me in my tracks! But at least it was only spitting snow, and above freezing for most of the day. I feel for the regions with blizzards, heavy snow and significant rain and flooding.

I am one zone colder, and it's the same, cold, cloudy, rain, today was the only day without rain, but no sun either.
Congrats on having all your daylilies after winter! I think I lost one.

Your garden looks so very beautiful. I may have to get some of those Wave daffs, very pretty. I've forgotten, is that Bowie's mom with him? Whiskey is looking very happy about spring.
