I am back, anyone remember me??

Well last summer my gardening turned to a bust after I was put on bed rest at the end of May through having Hayden on July 20th. Then rest and recuperation from tubal ligation and c-section for 6 weeks more, so there went my summer. I was so looking foreward to gardening this year, ordered tons of seeds and started some a month ago. Then we found out that surprise surprise that despite doing the tubal correctly, I am 2 months pregnant and due in November, the middle. Let me tell you the thoughts that went through my head were many until I realized that it was a gift from God and meant to be.

So my helpers this year will be a four year old, 2 year old and 8 month old, plus a big belly( I am already wearing maternity clothes at 8 weeks. )

I hope to get some gardening done, but we are supposed to get 3-5 inches of snow tonight and rain all week. But even if I have to let the house go to a mess, by goodness I will be gardening this summer and adding on to some of my beds and moving other things around. I am also organizing a local plant swap for the first part of May to trade plants with other gardeners in the area. I have wanted to do this for 5 years, but I had been either pregnant or had a baby, but this year I am going to get it done.

Just wanted to check in and update anyone that might remember me. Memo, we will have to get together sometime this summer, We have another baby and one on the way since I saw you a few summers ago.

So if anyone is wanting to trade or swap plants, I have lots to move and need to clear out areas for zinnias and sunflowers that I am going to be growing for one of the florists in town.

Your children are adorable! You know you will have some really great helpers in the garden. It's exciting that you are going to grow plants for the town florist and put together a plant swap, which are nice activities for your girls to help. Enjoy the time with your young ones, and good luck with your new one on the way :)

I'd say anthemis also. Looks like my anthemis James Kelwayii (I think that's what I have, but suddenly I'm not so sure, lol...) But the yellow flower is some kind of anthemis. The white looks like feverfew. :) Dee

Sheshe, I do remember you (although there's a Sheshebop around here, too, and I thought it was all one person). Life has certainly dealt you a bad hand, but I like your spirit and determination to get through this. Your DH's ingenuity in devising a way to work with only one good arm is evidence of that. I'm sure there are better days ahead! I like Snookums' suggestion for DH to hire a helper and become the supervisor, but if that's not possible, could he do better as an employee of a large contracting firm, perhaps giving estimates and rounding up subcontractors? Or perhaps a job at one of the big box stores like Home Depot or Lowes (or their subcontractors)? If so, he might be able to eventually get an employee discount on readymade cabinets and on the home repairs and installation. I hope things work out well for you both! Sue

Good to hear from you, Eliza Ann ... in the CA to the north of most of the attendees here, rather than to the south-west. Thanks for coming back to fill us in on what you've been doing - you certainly have been busy! You were the female mail carrier, weren't you? I'm somewhat sorry to hear that you've moved, though you referred to it a while ago, if I recall correctly, for I had hoped to meet you ... but it'll be some time now, if ever. Is your husband still in hospital, or back at home? Please give him a hug ... from many of us here. Assure him that we're thinking of him and hoping that things may improve for him. Does he do internet? Would he be interested to join you here, for many of trhe people here have had experience at dealing with people dealing with various mental problems and he might find understanding friends among the gang here. I do remember you. Enjoy those babies. They grow up so fast. My "babies" are all in their 40's now. It won't seem that way at 2:30 a.m., but they do.
I remember being in the same situation and trying to decide which cliff to jump off.
I just "knew" I would finally get a girl. Guess what, a 3rd boy.

I was new to this forum last year so haven't got to know everybody yet but may I add my good wishes for an easy pregnancy and hope you can spend lots of time in your garden with your little helpers. I'm waiting for the arrival of great granddaughter number two who should arrive on the scene sometime next month. Enjoy your little ones, they do grow up so quickly.

I can only imagine your surprise finding out that you were going to have another - you must be so wonderfully busy already.
Guess you plan to keep the gardening light for the next few years! But then think of all the free labor you will have in a few years!!!

I remember - at least you have your old name - I lost mine. And not to get too corny but you must have seen the poem about the dustbunnies that have to wait - gardens and children are far more important!!!

May this pregnancy be smooth and may your gardens filled with beauty. I think it's really neat that you will be growing sunflowers and zinnias for a florist.

I'm new to posting but have been a lurker for a while - congratulations on your surprise gift. I too had a real surprise 2 years ago when I found out I was expecting and I had three boys twins -15yrsold & a 13yrold. My princess was born & she is just an angel. God works in mysterious ways! Now she's my helper in the garden. I'm still a bit intimidated about posting since everyone here seems to know so much more- but welcome back!
