Rina, your Orgyalis is so pretty..Vivid orange. Your Kalanchoe must have been in full/direct sun. Mine has orange foliage but not as orange as yours. Okay, went outside..The perennial, whatever it may be has no fragrance..Leaf texture is rough, protrudes. Thankfully, no problems touching Kalanchoes. If so, I'd be in trouble. Have quite a few 'indoor' Kalanchoes. I also rubbed my finger and thumb over the Sage..It's VERY fragrant. Was going to mention, but didn't think it important at the time..probably isn't now either.lol. Actually, I bought two perennials at HD w/tags reading Euphorbia. The second had different colors. Unfortunately, it didn't make it through winter. Your E. Helena's Bush is gorgeous! Is it hardy? Your Sage looks similar to mine, only a LOT larger.. Height and leaf size. Is it planted in medium or full sun? It's supposed to grow tall, but for some reason, doesn't. This is the first year it's reached 8"..lol. Supposed to be 2-4' or taller. I think 104F summers halt growth too. Your plants look terrific. Toni

If you are near Burlington, there is an amazing pond store just west of town. TenderTop gardens...let me know if anyone needs directions. We had a pond in our last house (just moved out) and our favorite plants were the lotus (Huge WOW factor) and something we picked up for next to nothing called "mare's tail"...NOT the noxious weed our farmers hate! It looks a bit like parrot's feather, but is VERY hardy - ours actually rooted into our pond lining and we ended up having several plants. I also enjoyed a variety of the rushes. If you go to Tender Top, most pond plants are (or were last year)$7. My parents live in NC Iowa, and they always made at least one pilgramage down there each year for their pond. Regarding the hiacynths, we had them for 5 years, and only one of those five were they beautiful - but boy were they great that year...good enough that we kept on trying. The problem with hyacinths and water lettuce is that your fish ADORE eating their roots. That keeps them from really thriving. If you have a newish pond with smaller fish, I'd certainly try the hiacynths. Each plant spurs off several others, and they bloom all summer (if your fish don't get to them first!) All in all, it is really worth the time to go to a pond garden center. The people there know so much and can help you with almost anything.

I have two large fresh water ponds and one sal. planted lotus in the fresh watervpond and in two years hasd to have the taken out at a cost of six hundredv dollars,they are beautiful' if I were to grow them in a pond I would,grow them in large containers with no holes, thats how I grow mine I have seven large contaiers and fiberglass ponds that I growvthe lotus,hardy and tropical waterb liles in,since you are in zone 7 they might not make it through the winter in your pond but dont count on it,ive got somt hardy waterlilies for trade and in my opion the nicest lotus Shiroman, if you want to buy go to Teaxas Water lily, they are who I buy mine from LOL Hightider
