Email Notification - UPS- Scam

Not an April fools joke.

We were advised by our bank that there is scam going over the last month which you may receive a notification in your email which appears to be from UPS. It may not be. Once you click on an attachment, a virus is put on your computer to get your bank info and other personal data.

With packages arriving for the planting season be careful. I've already received 2 of these bogus notifications over the last couple of weeks which I already suspected it was a scam.

No snow here...only rain so I guess April showers will bring us May flowers :-).

Vaguely related, every single thread I read has "A copy of further followups will be emailed to this poster" in bold just under the message box. That used to show up only when someone really was wanting to recieve followups, but I see it even in threads I start and I know I haven't checked that box. Actually, if memory serves correctly, the "check here if you would like post replies emailed to you" box used to only show up on the original post and I see that constantly now too. Ghost box? Poor memory? Not sure...

ravencajun: I couldn't find my way thru winmail-general tab-play sound, but I also didn't try very hard because I prefer not to have the sound. So I took a look at adding a tray icon and wow, those directions look like more than I want to tackle! I think all this is trying to tell me that I am trying to be overly lazy, so maybe I'll just do those extra couple of clicks to see if there's any new mail. It's not like I'm walking out to our real mailbox several times a day to see if the postman came! Thanks much!

How to get email notification of activity on post(s)?

Thats the only chance you get to select that box. You also have to have this enabled on your profile in order for it to work. Even if you check the box, it won't work unless the profile settings allow it.

Curious? what airport does he want us to go to? Poor person is a little confused. When stuff like this comes in on my regular email, I just tell them I am forwording this to the attorney general for further instructions. I get very little now.

I still have no idea why people want to do that. If they were gardeners they wouldn't do such things! I never will figure why.

yes, I'm getting at least one email a day - goes to my junk folder - and I delete them. started this week - I placed order for some bulbs - thought that was related

I do hope folks are being more careful on what email attachments they open up.

Snow has stayed away and we were in the 60's for the last couple of days. The rain came back along with thunder and lightning and its back to the 30's today. :-(.

I get a bunch of those from UPS and FedEx. If I do expect a package, I prefer to go on their website and access info that way. Always safer.
