Anyone grow fall potatoes? When do you harvest?
Comments (22).. I planted several batches throughout the month of September.... ......................... Hard to say if the harvest will be significant .. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ As I mentioned in my first comments, potatoes need AVERAGE 100 days(from sprout to harvest) I would say anywhere from 85 days to 110 days , depending on the variety, So say if you planted in mid September, It would be 60 days at mid November: NOT ENOUGH. I think SD area weather is good for two crops : spring and fall. For the fall you could plant them early August. For Spring , plant them in February....See MoreAnyone Growing Peaches in the far north??
Comments (91)Peaches were great this year. The spring was long and cold and the end of summer was dry, for me. I have one tree with peach bore. I will probably remove that tree. All the peach trees set fruit so I was eating peaches a long time this summer. The nectarine tree set two fruit and the japanese beetles ate so much of them I threw them away. I need to start training the trees to the stakes I will be tying them to. It looks like a long fall for me here so I will have a lot of time to do all this. Just hope I can find some cheap cover hay this year. I will spray more for the beetles next year as I think we will be overwhelmed with them. I tried to take picture of the covering process but the trees were small and it was hard to see the procedure. Maybe this year (if I think of it) I'll try to take pictures again....See MoreAnyone have experience with fast-growing-trees.com?
Comments (32)I recently ordered from them, not knowing my order would come from China. The only tracking number they could provide was the one from China Post. I knew for a fact that these deliveries get transferred to USPS. Never got one from USPS. Tracked the shipment via Track17. Until one day, it said it was delivered, but I did not receive anything. Communicated the problem and they insisted that it was delivered to the right address, that neighbors might have received it. My neighbors know me and they'd surely give me the misdelivered item, which has happened in the past. We went back and forth on the refund. Finally settled on 50% refund. The first and the last order from them. Be warned. Sounds more like a scam now to me....See MoreDoes anyone know how to care for an Indian/Wild Almond indoors?
