Waking up schedule? Here's what I've seen:

I've been monitoring things closely, this my first real year as a conifer collector and here's the order roughly on which plants 'pushed', or woke-up:

1. Larix(By far - maybe a month ahead of the others)

2. Cedrus(easily second out also, a week or two before any of the others below)

3. Picea glauca

4. Abies lasiocarpa

5. Picea abies

6. Douglas fir/Psuedotsuga menz.

7. Abies koreana/Abies procera

8. Picea eng.

9. Picea omorika - just starting to show signs of life.

  1. Pinus - a slow steady push. Not needles yet, just very very long candles.

A few are still sleeping soundly, quite surprising here a week into May, including Picea sitchensis, Picea pungens, Abies nord., Abies balsamea and Abies concolor.

What a wierd year.
