PIcea Pungens Glauca Globosa blue or green?

I have purchased a Picea Pungens Glauca Globasa. The new growth this spring is very nice pale siler blue. Last years growth is much more green and is hardly blue at all. I am wondering if there is much diversity in this plant? Some I have seen in cultivation are blue all the way to the cnter of the plant and have no green needles. I am concerned that the plant I bought will turn green after the new growth matures. I have planted it in a very sunny spot with a southern exposure although it is shaded somewhat to the west by a rose bush. Are some of the globosas sold bluer than others? Are there specific cultivars of this plant that are more blue or did mine just not get enough sun last season to keep it blue? Once the needles turn green do they ever turn back to blue?
