Help! Planting Citrus-Issues

I purchased a blood orange tree yesterday from a local citrus nursery. I know citrus do not like having wet feet, and I feel the area I planted the tree in is poor quality and need to know what to do. I have posted links to pictures of my soil.

Should I move it to a different part of my yard? I can't accurately describe what soil type I have. It's dark, but it's powdery, but in other areas it's compact... Seems like water sits on the top for a minute then the soil gets waterlogged, doesn't drain properly, then a day later is bone dry and powdery again. It doesn't help that the previous owner of the house filled a third of the back yard with horrible rocks that have penetrated about 6 inches down into the substrate. So I dug up the rocks and made a decent sized hole, and this morning it looks like the soil has settled after I watered and the root ball is about three inches out of the ground.

Please help! I don't want my beautiful orange tree to die because of my ignorance.

*Please note the soil types are less than 15 feet away from each other- my back yard is messed up. Also, the moist soil does drain better but it's super compact- this is what the tree is in.
