Now for some more S's... Let's start with a Sunrise... Some crafts I do start with S... A Stepping Stone... this one is painted on a raised surface Here is a Sign I painted for the garden that has Snow on it... My iris "Stained Glass" The little Snowman and penguin that I painted last winter and have classes for here in my home. Notice the mosaic Stepping Stone in the background. When my boys came home for Christmas last year they got the Skidoo out and went Snowboarding behind it. They had a lot of fun that day! A Scarab on a rose. For last summer's farmer's markets I planted up these little containers that were filled with Sempervivums and Sedums. Silverine Sempervivum I have a Stardust Sedum. This sedum has white flowers in the fall. Susan Brown Peony with her huge flowers. Smokey Blue Lungwort is one of the first perennials to bloom each spring in my yard. It will bloom for over a month. And a few Irises... Sheldon Butts Iris, SDB Show Me Yellow Iris, SDB Snow Queen iris, Siberian Sparks Fly iris, SDB Spice is Nice iris, SDB Spot of Tea iris, SDB Spring Bonnet iris, IB Sweet Dalmation Variagata iris has variegated foliage. And some lilies that haven't been posted yet... San Fransisco Showgirl Soprano Sphinx Sterling White lily Sunray Swallowtail Sydney Strawberry Rhubarb. These plants will always remind me of my grandpa. He would pop in unexpectedly and stay for a visit. When we moved here to the acreage 13 years ago he showed up one day with a couple of garbage bags of his strawberry rhubarb plants so I could start a little row of my own here. Since then I have shared with other family members Grandpa's Strawberry Rhubarb plants. Shasta Daisies always look so pretty. Some have reseeded along the stepping stone path in the flowerbeds and made that area look very pretty last year. Soapwort is such a pretty little perennial. Brad: I think the plant you are referring to is Lythrum Salicaria "Morden's Pink". The species Lythrum is invasive in the wetlands, but the hybrid Morden's Pink has never shown any inclination to reseed or spread. Doesn't matter. The plant police have banned it along with the thug species Lythrum in many many states. Throwing the baby out with the bath water imo....... I wish mine would have reseeded a bit in the 30 years I've grown it. I can't find any new plants of Mordern's Pink locally or in mail order. However, I did see it listed for sale at a nursery in Kentucky once. Don't know if the nursery is around you, but it is named "Wallitsch". ............Maryl

Thanks, peren.all! That's a nice way of saying I'm a hopeless plant collector! ;-) I only got one bloom on my Bartzella last year, but I am hopeful it will continue to get better each year. I love orange, too, but only have one spot in the garden where it really fits in, especially in spring, when nearly everything is pastel. I have found Mystica much hardier and more vigorous than Penstemon 'Red Rocks' but those are the only two varieties I have tried. I just love how the bees climb right into the flowers until only their wiggly fuzzy rear ends are sticking out, honestly. I adore Blue Moon. It may be my favorite perennial - if it would just bloom a bit longer! I have huge clumps all over from the one I started with a few years ago. The Pieris is new, but then again, so is pretty much everything in my garden! The puschkinia was new last year, and I am rather hoping it is aggressive, since I have a huge woodland garden to fill and a small budget to do it! I suspect my squirrels will keep it in check though, as I keep catching them digging up the bulbs. Not eating them, mind. Just digging them up and leaving them to get frozen and mushy overnight. I admit... I have been "cheating" on this alphabet thing by sorting my garden spreadsheet alphabetically. Makes it easier to search once I remember I have something. Thanks for continuing to start threads. (Although GardenHo, I hope we see you back soon!)

Mizellie, where did you find Prairie Fire? I can find Prairie Sunset, but not Prairie Fire. I have Prairie Blue eyes, Prairie Moonlight and Prairie Wildfire. I would like to do a whole collection of Prairies. So far I have not been disappointed with any of them and would like to collect more.

Thanks to all of you for contributing to this Alphabet Soup of Daylilies. I have really enjoyed looking at everyone's pictures and they have certainly increased my wish list a great deal ha, ha (like it was short to begin with - not). I have just started browsing this site and am enjoying it immensely. I look forward to being part of it.
