Overhead Watering -- which plants?

I have a 30' diameter lawn (for the dog) with two 6'-8' round garden plots that I will connect (dog bone) this year and to irrigate this entire area, I have a "rainforest tripod sprinkler" that I'll place in the center and program to run early in the mornings. This sprinkler is advertised to be gentle--no forceful spray.

The area is free of trees, there are a couple shrubs in the existing space (whose tops can be seen when sitting in the family room). Area gets sun most of the day.

I am having a harder time thinking of what I CAN plant in this area than what I can't. I'm worried about the obvious, disease, wet blooms etc. I'll have to put a low wire fence around the area...to protect against Herr Sprizter.

I figure I can still do my snow peas early season. No tomatoes there...and I'm going to build a new trellis for my green beans else where. My wishes are that I have plants that have color and are 2' - 4' tall. I'm totally good on edibles in there too!
