Made The Mistake of Dividing Even Though I Couldn't Find Any Eyes

HELP Please!!! This is my first year growing Dahlias. I thought I had waited long enough after a frost, the leaves on my plants had turned brown, but the stem was still green. I cut them off, left them in the ground for a few more days, and then dug them, washed them off, removed all the little roots and put them in the garage to dry overnight. Today I went out to divide the clumps, and after much reading, reading and more reading, thought I was doing it correctly. After all this, I could not see any eyes on any of the tubers I salvaged. I guess after I read one of the posts today, I should have just cut the clumps in half and stored them like that and waited until next spring to see if there were any eyes. Now that I have already cut them off, can I still store them and they will survive? Any help is greatly appreciated. PS I have dusted them with a mixture of sulfer and vermeculite, and plan to wrap them is plastic wrap when they are dry.

Thanks for any help.....
