Young lemon tree dropping leaves...
Comments (1)Wish I could send a longer response but its past bedtime this end of the pond! Look up everything you can on this forum on Winter Leaf Drop (WLD) using the search function at the bottom of citrus forum page. Use google too. Nothing to be alarmed about if this is the case. More info on everything about how you look after these plants is required. Watering, fertilizer, growing medium, environment, size etc...See Moreleaf drop on potted indoor meyer lemon?
Comments (10)Hi everyone (including rhizo -- sorry for the mixup!), Thanks for all the helpful tips. The tree has not lost any more leaves since I bagged it and set it well away from the windows. It has already perked up a little and looks like it is on its way to recovery. The tree has to be indoors because, alas, I am not fortunate enough to have any outdoor space. Most of my plants live in the sunny front end of my railroad apartment, which is unfortunately the only good exposure (surrounded by large south and east facing 4th floor windows) and the only place for my living room a/c during the summer. My plants have survived it pretty well, except for root-rot with some of the larger ones (hence the fast-draining mix). Thanks again everyone, and I'll keep you posted as to how the recovery goes!...See MoreMeyer Lemon Tree Dropping Leaves!
Comments (31)Looking mighty good@! Laura, as a side note..Your mix for your trees ALWAYS looks might pretty! Remember one thing, if you were to use a mix with ,more finer particles, you would have to be very concerned about keeping your trees out that cold on those nights if the mix was still wet. With the 5.1.1, it's not an issue for you to ever to worry about.. If you get leaf loss, it will be because you brought them into a warm heated room from the cold they are use to being exposed to. But don't panic, they should recover))...See MoreIndoor Potted Variegated Pink Eureka Lemon Leaf Drop
Comments (9)I tried bringing the plant outside a few times but it seemed to suffer a little since temperatures go from 47-90 within the same day, and so I brought it in, but I could put it back out if that would be better for it. The plant gets about 5-7 hours of direct sunlight (its by a southwest facing window) and I haven't fertilized it since I've had it such a short amount of time and the nursery put slow release fertilizer in it. I keep the pot elevated and empty the drip tray if there's any water in it to make sure it doesn't rot from sitting in water....See Moremeyermike_1micha
