first time starting seed

Last Frost ~May20th

I have limited growlight space (I have to have room for my tomatoes in a couple months!).

I have LA seeds bought several months ago. They are in the fridge.

I harvested seed from a daylily pod just for the heck of it and decided to see if I could actually germinate them.

2 of 18 sprouted (peat pellet). They are potted up in large yogurt containers and have 3 leaves each. They are in a windowsill getting limited (3-4hrs direct) light. Their growth is definitely not as fast as the pictures show from Briar Hill daylilies (thanx for those pics btw!).

  • Should I put these under growlights? (they'd have to go in my dark, cool basement)
  • Is it too late to start the LA bought seeds? I have a heat mat, would this help the seed starting process?
  • I'm taking a poll: Which indoor seed starting method do you prefer? (or a mix of?)
    • A: direct sow in pots
    • B: on the rocks
    • C: peat pellet
    • D: diluted peroxide solution

Thanks for any response.
