eureka lemon has lots of blooms & new lemons but dropping leaves
Comments (4)The leaves are curled but I assumed that was from the spider mites. They are mostly older leaves and interior most are yellowish some are green. As far as fertilizer I need some help in that area. I am having trouble finding a citrus fertilizer so have been using just a basic 20-20-20. Just fertilized a month ago.On my next trip to the city I plan on going to one of the big nurseries to see what they have. Our smaller ones don't seem to have what I need. I have been trying to keep the soil loose on top. My new growth leaves are a yellowish green but have been starting to green up a little. Is it normal for this much new bloom this time of year? Thank you so much for all of your help. I am feeling a lot more reassurred already....See Moremeyer lemon tree dropping leaves
Comments (51)nina 313 and bdeller1, you each should start a new thread to get good answers to your questions. Tagging onto an old post will get you a lot less replies. People look at the start date and figure the subject of the post is no longer relevant. nina, we could use some better pics of the whole tree, and bdeller, we need pics from you too. Each person's own thread should include info about your watering habits, how much and how often. Any fertilizer or anything else you've added, how much, when and why. How long you've owned it. Also give info about the soil your tree is in; original from nursery, or re-potted, brand and/or ingredients of the soil. Is it kept indoors or outdoors, indoors only in winter, outdoors in summer, and if indoors, what kind of light, ie in front of window(window direction), or grow lights or combination. Help us help you. : ) Also, if you start your own thread, you can track answers to it in your "your houzz" area....See MoreIndoor lemon tree unhappy with dropping yellow leaves
Comments (10)You should also buy some Oscomote plus to mix into your mix. As far as the mix is concerned, even though it may say for citrus, it will not be nearly as good for your plants as what you can mix up yourself. I was reluctant at first and resisted also, but it is really quite simple and makes a huge difference in how happy your trees will be. Keep in mind (and you especially with hard water) will need to water thoroughly to wash away deposits. If your mix does not drain freely, you will not be able to do this well. I like the 5-1-1 mix because it is lighter and I also find the ingredients easier to find. I mix into the mix a scoop of the Oscomote plus for good measure and water with FP and a little vinegar....See MoreLemon tree dropping leaves
Comments (27)I had the same problem with leaf drop on one of my meyer lemon trees. Took me 2 years to figure it out. I researched and researchEd, Found a article on a pda of Florida citrus growers study. Root Temperatures have to be kept above 75 or they will “sleep “ and not Absorb nutrients. Remember roots are usually on the floor and that is cooler than room air. I have used two Seedlings warmers wrapped around my pot, in the winter ,for years and that stopped the leaf drop. I have another Meyer lemmon and it does fine without warm ing the roots. Who knows. Different root stock?.??...See Morejohnmerr
