Comments (7)It's nice whatever it is! I still get Hobbits and Gollums confused, hang on, will have to go check mine...OK, my vote is for 'Gollum'!!! Like the double horn affair, very unusual. Hello Howard!! Gill from the UK....See MoreSticky fingers? gollum? hobbit? legolas?
Comments (19)Hi Neil, This is a 'Red Horn Tree' definitely. It will get the same coloration as a 'Hummel's Sunset' with cooler temperatures and bright light. Once you get strong roots and lots of new growth, keep it next to your Hummel's for a prolonged period of time and they should get similar coloration. The variegated form of 'Skinny Fingers' is the 'Legolas'. This one will have very different coloration on the leaves, often times either an entire leaf will lose chlorophyll or it will appear as though a regular varigated jade leaf was rolled up. Like 'Hummel's Sunset', 'Red Horn Tree' is not a variegated form of jade. 'Hummel's Ghost' is the variegated form of the Sunset. A lot to take in there... -Erica...See MoreWanted: C. ovata cv 'Legolas'
Comments (1)'Legolas' is still pretty rare, and if you are lucky enough to find one you probably will need something equally rare to trade for it. Red horns, even from different sources should be the same plant/clone....See MoreLegolas jade & Variegated Gollum jade, leaf propagation
Comments (61)Laurent - French Riviera (zone 9a) "Oksana, I don't know what a mono-led fixture is. I'm living in a mediterranean region (orange-tree climatic zone). I only keep inside the little Legolas and little variegated gollum + the variegated schlumbergera. The region is sunny enough to get them grow very well inside behind a window, without artificial lights." Laurent, a "mono-LED fixture" would be an light fixture containing LED light bulbs that are all of one color. For example, in Oksana's first set of pictures the plants are under an LED light fixture in which all of the LED lights are red in color. In the second photo, the LED lights are all blue. :-)...See Moregreenclaws UK, Zone 8a
