Really nice dorstenia - how long have you had it?

That namaquanum is sweet, too. My pachy sulks when I bring it in for the winter, starts growing again when it goes back outdoors in the summer. I always wonder if it is dead, then it pops some leaves again for a little while.

The Dorstenia is about 5 years old. It did lose its top when I had the bad idea to plant it out in our clay around spring 2009.
HEY! anybody know what the pinnate plants are growing in the pot with the Aualluaudia? The closest I've seen that resemble them were wild plants growing under giant Adeniums in Socotra. Just a few inches high with yellow flowers? Any ideas? tough sons of guns..spreading seedlings among my fat plants, naturally enough.

From the distance they appear to be some sort of mesquite. In the bean family, I think.

Do your Pachys live outside all of the time and (2) if they do, does your P. namaquanum stay in leaf the longest?

That's what mine did in SD - they were under an open-sided rain shelter, though.

It give me pleasure to see P.n. in leaf - flowers are a bonus. If yours hasn't flowered yet, I'd think it won't be too long before it does.

Very interesting observation on your P. nama. Mine actually stays in leaf the shortest of all my Pachy's. Kind of annoying to me, actually. It leafs out in the summer at random times, then loses them later in the summer...and is leafless for me all winter indoors. Bizarre...

That's interesting;coupled with the fact that P.n. is the only one to come from a winter-rainfall area, I've enough material to keep me befuddled for months. In San Diego, it had leaves every month except February/March. Even when it was loosing the last of its leaves in March, you could see new ones coming.

When I suggested to someone that they move their lectern, I was pointedly told 'You can pack your own podium.'

When mine goes leafless, I treat it like my other Pachy's - I go pretty dry. Wonder if I am going too dry with my nama? How often do you water yours when leafless?

I would have given it a sip 2x a month, when I remembered to do so.

The halfman is brought in for the winter-but it has spent a winter or two outdoors. Indoors it drops leaves.
Caudex tomorrow I can take a pic-becuase I'm not seeing that plant anywhere else but my fat plant pots more or less.
It must be drought tolerant-it roots tenaciously-you cant pull it out easily. Yellow flowers.
