Blooms changing color?

Hello! I planted some yellow/white bicolored dahlias along with some red dinner plate dahlias. They are all blooming beautifully except the yellow dahlias have a pink ting to them. I'm not sure if it's something in the soil or maybe the bulbs weren't what they said they were. If anyone has ever seen this or knows what the deal is with this, I'd love some information. Thank you!

You nay have some cross pollination and might have come up with a new flower! Thats my unprofessional opinion ;o)

I like a pink tinge to my flowers. Could be nutrients, could be level of sun they are getting that make them slightly different than the package.

I have 3 tubers of the same variey planted in 3 very different places in the yard this year to see how each turns out. One is in a new bed without too much soil amendment, two are in an established bed but with different sun exposure.

I realize this is the perennials forum but some Profusion Zinnias change color (the pinks, oranges, and reds I believe). I have a red-orange variety that starts out an intense solid color then unevenly fades over time to lighter, rich, orange and yellow-orange with some darker red-orange mixed in. I have heard some criticism over the fading, but I love it. When they fade they look as though they are a water color painting with all the different variations color blending into each other. I don't know how long they take to change color. At the start of the summer it was quite fast under a week but now they are more established it takes a bit longer but I can't give you precise time frame. I will try to upload a picture later to give you a sense of the beautiful coloration.

Kalanchoe's 2nd bloom changed color

It is not uncommon for some Kalanchoe to vary in color. The first photo shows a plant grown under commercial conditions to induce flowering and be attractive enough to attract a customer. Some Kalanchoe flowers change slowly as they mature, so that a yellow flower may develop a strong orange or red tint over a period of a week or so. What is the time period between the two photos? If it is a very short time, then it may be the difference in light and humidity from its development to the place where you have it growing. It is my experience that the wonderful condition of the newly purchased plant does not persist, and when the next flowering period comes around (generally a year later), the plant will be less vibrant and the flower color may or may not be somewhat changed. well i have no idea why is doing that. buts its kind of cool in a way. maybe it just blooms with that much yellow the first year and then progressivly gets darker? i doubt it but im just throwing ideas out there. either way its pretty cool its doing that

Just a heads up, don't keep it in that container very long, you should try to repot the rose to reduce risk of early root rot which may cause the plant to wilt in the next few days. A lot of dahlias are blends of 2 or more colors. If you have a pink tinge it could be your soil or it could be you didn't get the dahlia you were told you got.

Hi,
I have recently read something about plants that are planted toghether they can change color and it is called a sport. I think it has something to do with roots touching. Could this be in your case?
As an example a month ago I planted in pots some purple violets and some yellow violets, about two weeks later I noticed that the yellow violets had purple streaks in them they formed a sport.
But Dahlias are hybrids so it could just be a that. I have a Dahlia Linda it blooms yellow but I noticed that one flower had a purple spot on it like someone dropped some ink on it and it ran. It was pretty cool looking. I think it happened because it is a hybrid.
I bet yours are pretty Dahlias!
