This may be very easy or very hard...

When I was growing up in Winston Salem, NC there was a groundcover in the woods that may have been a fern or moss, but I don't know. It was about 3-4 inches high (if memory serves). The leaves looked almost like a false cypress and were umbrella shaped (single stems to leaves much like a mayapple but the leaves were different) and made a lovely green carpeted look. I never saw it flower. I know my description is vague but I am going on memory. If anyone has ideas as to what it might be I would love to know. Thanks in advance. -Ais.
