Things are starting to color up. I'm sure you've all got some great color... I know Rosemarie has a beautiful Echeveria that is fire red and all frilly!

Lisa, your Flamingo Garden's Tea is the epitome of a tea rose and I am captivated. I hope all those buds remain intact through the high winds. Gorgeous with Pomponella peeking through. Your bouquet may not be what you had in mind, but it is lovely and I wouldn't change a thing. I will be looking for a Cherry Caramel phlox! Love it! Sara Ann, what pretty grands you have. The grown up girl on the right in the 2nd pic must be the little girl in the first photo? And, the boy on the left must also be on the left in the 2nd pic? I can't decide which of the two young boys the little cutie blondie is. Mine are all girls except 1 grandson. We have photos of him and my dad, his great grand dad, sitting side by side on the porch, each wearing one of dad's hats from when he was tiny through his 20's, the last one taken just before my dad passed away. Those photos are so precious. Diane, you are always so complimentary. I could post a photo of dirt and you would find something nice to say about it. Those roses are Rosarium Uetersen, Quietness and Florentina, all in their shrunken, cold weather glory. Hope you put an extra blanket on the bed. We are both scheduled to get down to 14˚ tonight. I'm still doing the compost sling, too. Hope to wrap it up this week. It's too cold to stay outside for long.

My wife was put back on her original med for migranes she took for years...So no new meds. She did not come home until today so things not going very well here... I'm totally baffled but I'm during ok under the circumstances! Thanks for the concerns everyone! And I enjoyed everyones photos! Always enjoy that part of our seasonal threads! Thanks, all! I admit I’m addicted to blends — and since it‘s started cooling off here, I’m hoping for some interesting variations. More blooms are coming - maybe five days away. That rain was like a deliverance. Went on for2-3 hours, which is epic here in October.

hosta_ maker, no, we have not received a hard frost where I am located. Temps have dipped to 30-32 a couple nights, but the plants in the back yard are protected from winds because of where the house is and the fencing around the yard. The back yard also receives alot of sun now that the big tree is down. And, the large amount of wood decking I think heats the air close to the ground. A couple of hostas in back shot up new leaves after being cut back last month. mxk3, I agree that it is disconcerting—— it shows how climate change is affecting our gardens. cearbhaill, yes we are having very strange weather this year! There’s a big front coming through the country that is going to bring rain, storms, snow in areas and possible flooding in vulnerable areas……. 😱 debra

Looks so much like mine. They called it variegated. I wonder if it really is. Cost was high.

your plant is Red Horn tree, variegated Hobbit.

I don't know names of either of mine. I do know that I got three of the larger plant in the background and was told they were a "large leaf" variety from the normal. Don't ask why I got three of them; the other two are currently outside in the cold.

(I assume I missed your stinker's moment of glory, Howard? Kind of a bummer. I had originally planned on popping back over to experience it.)

Great pics! I finally brought all my plants in today. The weather says we are supposed to hit under 30 degrees tonight =(.

may be, are your plants the overfertilized Hobbits? If not Red Horn Tree.

I keep my plants outdoor without water to 39 at nights.
But the Jades are indoor under lighting during the day.

Sorry you missed it, Paul. Next growing season. I had buds on all of them shortly after the last flower opened but with the cold weather, they blasted!!!

Oks2n2, they are definitely NOT over fertilized. The person from whom I got them had both a small leaved and a large leaved plant. So I guess mine are these "Red Horn Tree".
