Well here are the first photos of Dancing Creek Farm. It's 30 acres. The front has nice pastures long driveway then the pictures explain the rest.

I have ordered a few times from Critter Creek and have been very pleased with my orders. One of the things I liked about them is that it seems they have some unusual and harder to find things. I was lucky enough to visit them also about 3 years ago on a club trip. I wish I lived closer!

I am here to address the complaint placed by Whitedog1. I know her as My Imagination a company located in WI. She was a new customer of mine and we did not have any interaction prior to her placing of her order. 1. The order was placed on January 31, 2013 for 72 plants (not the 36 she is stating in her complaint). On said order the plant total came to $108 with shipping in the amount of $65.20. 2. Shipping is calculated to the PENNY according to the size of the boxes (there would have been 3), weight of each box and the zone it was shipping to. The shipping company sets the shipping rate not Possum Creek Herb Farm. Let me be very clear about this next part......the shipping was calculated at the time the order was placed. The shipping company INCREASED their rates on or about the first of March as they do EVERY year. I did NOT go back to her order or any order and INCREASE the shipping. I absorbed that increase and did NOT extend it to the customer as I have every right to.Also, remember the order was placed at the end of January. The order was not canceled until 4/18/13 because of the shipping charges? The same shipping charges that were on the order for almost three months or more? Every customer receives a copy of one of our orders at the time they place the order. No communication was made until 4/17/13 when she began questioning the shipping. 3. The customer ordered from the wholesale portion of my website because she was able to provide a tax id number saying she was reselling the plants. Great! If you will note on my wholesale page it clearly states that if any wholesale order is canceled that a $35.00 restocking fee will be held from the refund. Let me explain why for those of you that have replied to this complaint. This order was placed and plants were grown against the order. That is how wholesale is done in the plant world. The grower takes the chance that the customer will take possession of the order at the time the customer specified. This customer said she did not have a greenhouse, lived in zone 3 or 4 and could I ship as late as possible. First week in June was the chosen shipping week. She was charged a deposit and then the balance plus the shipping was charged near the end of March. The plants were grown and the order was complete. I was just waiting for the all clear to ship according to her specifications. So, when a wholesale order is canceled I think it is quite fair to retain a restocking deposit against the costs I incurred growing the specified plants in the first place. Note: I do not retain a restocking fee on retail plants. 4. Customer complained that I refunded her order with a check instead of back to her credit card. All credit card transaction companies charge fees for incoming funds or for outgoing refunds. Company policy is to refund with a company check because many times it's quicker for the customer and I am not incurring any extra fees. 5. Everything was clearly stated on the website. Sometimes it is good to read the print and if there is a question PRIOR to ordering contact the company. I have been growing and selling quality herbs for over 15 years and this is the first public complaint I felt I had to respond to because there were so many indiscrepancies in the complaint. So to wrap this up once and for all because I am not responding again to this complaint or to this woman. You were charged fairly for shipping. In fact, you got a deal on shipping. You stated in your email to me that you would have had to raise your plant prices to over $7 per plant to recoup the shipping and overhead. 72 plants aren't going to help you much with your overhead and each plant would have shipped for less than a buck. You could have charged your customers about $3.50 or so per plant and made a nice little profit. Shame really because these were really nice plants. Full sized and ready to go into someone's garden or a container. I grow herbs. I leave the shipping rates to those that do that for a living. Thank you for your time.

I use to live in Newport News, VA, but that was a long time ago. I live in south central PA now. I figured if you were in northern VA and were going to be open to the public I would come visit and of cource tree shopping:)

Foxy you can always make a day trip. If you have kids bring 'em. Many weekends people would load up kids, grand parents, friends and drive out to my everglades farm from ALL over. They love seeing the animals and learning about new plants/fruits. I'm looking forward to installing aquaponics and grow systems because I love teaching people how to grow things and how to be kind to the earth. You can always pop a tent down the creek too!

Beautiful place!! I'm very envious.
Are you sure we are not related? LOL You sound like long lost sister. Your critters.. How do you get them? I have gotten a number of critters, over the past 13 yrs, most were just dumped on my front porch. Wild and not.. Opossums, squires, various wild birds, dogs, cats, guinea pigs, the "tame" critters were usually "rescue". someone couldn't care for them properly and I ended up with them. Someone even abandoned FISH! on my front porch once!! They left the poor fish in a trash can filled with water. The critters I got that were wild were usually babies that ppl got cause the parent was accidentally killed. I'd raise them with as little contact as I could till they were old enough to release in the wild.. way far away from my home.
My current critters are.. 2 conure birds given to me for $50 each (worth about $200 each) One of my dogs is a rescue dog.. Chihuahua (now10yrs old). very sweet dog was not being taken care of.. the other dog I have is his daughter. she is the sweetest. she is half jack russle. we found a new home for the mother. when I get a new "rescue" critters I try to "rehab" it and find a suitable home for it or return to the wild. If I had a place in the country like yours I'm sure I'd have more than the 13 critters +??# of fish. 2 birds, 2 dogs, 1 cat, 2 guinea pigs, 5 hermit crabs, 1 hackney horse/pony. Got the horse for $50 cause the person couldn't care for her. She is out at my parents place now. Trying to find her a new good home. it is truly a shame ppl get pets and don't care for them.
Most of the critters don't take much to care for.. and give a thousand times back in love..

Gina thank you. Sorry for the delay. I'm driving back and forth from Florida and VA. Each time my van is loaded...this will be a long move.

I bought my florida farm for the purpose of caring for rescued animals. The biz came second when I needed to make money from home. I got some animals from rescues, people bring them here finding them on the side of the road (babies who lost mothers) injured animals etc.

I found homes for the horse, pigs and two goats. I was going to bring them all but there is so much involved. So we're bringing lots of rabbits (which we use poop for fertilizers) chickens, some goats, dogs, some cats. I am sure once settle up there we'll get more. Already in VA I was spending time there and a female dog started hanging around. The people were not caring for her and let her run loose. Now she's in a large pen with my other dogs. Everyone is happy with nice digs. We also have a baby kitten there named Monster. If you spent any time around him you'd know why.

I never turn any animals away that need me. I am not set up to care for wildlife, however I keep extra cages around in the event one comes until I can get it to the right facilty that handles this.

Once set up in VA I may apply for a certificate that permits us to care for wildlife that can not be released back.

I couldn't think of a more rewarding life.... full of nature- plants and animals.
