Help Id'ing this fern? New to Ferns!

Hello All,

I am new to ferns and just added a new shade garden to my yard after 10 years of full sun gardening I finally have some shade to work with. I received this fern in a trade and now it has filled in sufficiently to post for an id. Can anyone help me out?

I recently added Bradfords Beauty and an Ostrich Fern. Can't wait to see the ostrich get going. I am really enjoying the ferns!

Could you break off a frond that has spores and take a picture of the spore pattern?

Looks like it could be Cinnamon fern. If so, they will send up a center frond that turns golden (it is the fertile part). If you can see spores on the backs of the fronds, then it is not Cinnamon fern.

Thanks, both of you! Macranthos, I think that’s it! I’ve never heard of Pteris or Phyllitis, so no wonder I couldn’t find the name. For what’s described as a “common fern,” it sure didn’t come up a lot in searches. Thank you!

Hi, I can't seem to see any spore development on any of the fronds. This was the most mature of all of them so I took a pic of the underside anyhow, hoping it will assist in the id. The curliness reminds me of parsley.

You might try looking into the Cryptogramma species. They are called the "parsley ferns" and are very hardy ..adds up...
