An apology, an introduction and a picture

The apology is about not being here for all my dear old and new gardening friends for some time, my hobby has become my work( I love it) but I am now living, breathing,loving gardening 24/7 so sometimes I just don't seem to have the energy to keep up with everyone......I read everything but lapse when it comes to responding, I'll try harder to be here.

The intro is for my bestest sister who I have just found out has been lurking and loving you all from afar...you have seen her picture with me in the past( the cute one)lol! "Tahi"(Mora was the name of my boat, Tahi the name of hers) can garden her way around me and back again and with her husband fight the good fight with the deer and mostly winning. "Tahi" I am outing you,c'mon out to play,lol

Ah gee thanks y'alls. It's so fun to share with people who can appreciate it. @luvs2click thanks for the moss link. Makes me feel better I didn't do the slurry. Guess I just need to figure out how to give it a stable base long enough to let it attach. Not easy with the dogs running all over. @9bark I love sitting out there. I have a wicker chair and shelf I curb scored a couple of years ago. I've been trying to get something (anything) to grow in those brick planters, even tried mint but no go. Oh well maybe a project for next year. So many ideas so little time :)

Thank you all for the kind complements. I can already tell I am going to enjoy this community. @rosemariero- The mix I am using is working great for me. If I wasn't so cheap I would use pumice exclusively for a majority of my collection. @NameTaken- I was trying to post my pictures using the image code rather then the html code. You guys are in trouble now. Whoever has dial up is going to hate opening my threads. @Greenman28- Thank you for that complement. I look at other growers plants in envy wishing I could grow a plant that well. I guess im to hard on my self, either that or im never satisfied. Probably a mixture of both. Obviously, QOTS is my favorite Seaver hosta. One got Cleo'd in 2012, and survived by a thread. So, I bought another in 2013, just in case the one Cleo mangled didn't survive. Then, at the end of the season in 2013, I bought 2 on the season close-out at 2 for 1 and planted them together. So, it appears that I have three QOTS. That's interesting. All I have to show of Seaver is pips. That, however, is not too interesting. I have Komodo Dragon (maybe did not survive the winter), and Humpback Whale. I'll figure out what to do with it when it gets too big for the pot. bk

Mora ~ How great to hear from you. Your job sounds wonderful even though time consuming. Hope you get to take breaks now and then. Don't want you to burn out, or your own beautiful gardens to wither away.

I do hope we will see Tahi here soon in posts. It will be neat having two sisters here sharing their garden in pictures and knowledge.

Yes, definately come out, come out, where ever you are. Tell us about your garden. Mora, good to see you posting again.

I too have been gardening 24/7 and just haven't had the time or energy to keep up here. I try to peek in every chance I get....but that hasn't been often. I do think of you all though...does that count? I'll have to post some pics so you all can see what I have been up to.

Welcome Tahi, I'm the plantaholic from the west coast, looking forward to seeing pics of your garden, please join us and tell us what's doing in your garden, favorite plants, favorite colors, what works and what doesn't work for you. I'm growing some of your sister's beautiful Hollyhocks, I think the birds got her poppy seeds :o(.
Martha isn't it fun working at something you love, tiring to some extent but so satisfying.

Mora, your employers are SO LUCKY to have such a talented, passionate gardener tending the pretties. I'm sure they're thrilled to have you!

I'm another one who is thinking of you all, but am only able to check in a couple times a week these days and the worst of it is not having time to see all the great photos (slow-rotten dial-up!).

My sweet Sis is having a problem getting in so I'll jump in here for a bit. Your welcoming responses are bringing a tear to the eye! You are the best!
I'll soon be ready to post pics of "the job", funny thing, I'm not nearly as worried about what my employers think as I am about what you all will think.....and thats a good thing....right???, LOL M

Yup, I can understand your trepidation. This group is so critical and vicious, posting a picture here is just asking for a public ripping, up one side and down the other. I'm sure you will be reduced to a whimpering boneless mass of embarrassment when we get done with you.
