The only thing that came to mind was ikebana because I have been buying/thinking about arranging the plants for my pots. Not only am I in the wrong country, but on the entirely wrong subject. Ah well.

I did think of the Japanese paper folding like Nancy-at least I'm guessing that is what occurred to you!

Off to buy a new hose and sprinkler-DH or DS put the whatchamacallit so tightly on the end of the hose that we can't get it off. So, now I'll just change out the length of hose depending on whether I want to use the sprinkler or spray nozzle. Just one adventure after another!

I had a toy when I was a kid called 'Colortron'. It was a small whiteboard, with lots of little coloured plastic shapes that you could built pictures with - I loved it!! Such a dork.

Okay, I guess it is late enough...my guess is tangrams, but I had no idea they were Chinese! When you first posted, TM, that is what I immediately thought of, but I figured it had to be something fancier. Then, BBhills mentioned changing one letter and it still didn't click until I posted that silliness with the words.

Yes, indeed, they are called tangrams.

Apparently no one knows for sure where tangrams originated, but China is thought to be the place. This illustration is from an Italian book from 1817.

I've never had any knack for tangrams and usually give up right away.
