Will Flying Dragon Rootstock produce fruit?

We lost our Meyer Lemon this last winter, due to freezing temperatures. The root stock (Flying Dragon) is now growing vigorously and is taller and bushier than the original tree. If we let it grow, will it ever produce any fruit? Or, should we just dig it out and plant a new tree? We already planted another Meyer Lemon in a different place, and can let this one grow where it is, if it is worth the space.

Thanks!
