putting this angel here and hoping that each and every one of you has a guardian angel to watch out over you.

With New Years aproaching so fast I want to share a german thing that my mom used to tell me all the time. It is like a curse and I love to share good and bad with you hahaha

DArn it I can not think of what you call something like eating black eyed peas for good luck. Just woke up and I guess I left that english in my dreams lol

Anyways, I should have taken a picture of the loads of laundry I got to do before tomorrow night. My mom faithfully washed and ironed all the dirty laundry before New Years. They say if you take dirty laundry into the new year. You will have it ALL year long . ALL THE TIME: ha ha ha come to think of it.....I DO! and who doesn't? roflmao I think my mom just tricked me into doing the laundry more often!! What a tricky mom ha ha ha ha ha

What do you watch out for? Darn still can not come up with it...Do you never walk under a ladder? ETc etc.

Hope each and everyone is going to have a great day and get at least one kind word. A hug. A Kiss. A smile or some comforting words

our family usully eats Pork on New Year's Day! Supposed to be good luck!

Also called old, wives' tales. My mom has a few, but the one I always remember, but never get it straight is, "if your right palm itches, that means you are going to get some money, but if you left palm itches, that means you are going to put out some money," OR vice versa. I never remember, but anytime my palm itches, I keep hoping I am going to receive some money, LOL!!!

Dorothy it is a beauty! Theresa I opened the shed, they just do not want to stop blooming lol Eloise there ARE a few things out there that deserve a day in the spotlight :-) Daniella hopefully he will grow a lot and I get to share with those that would love to have this beauty also. Deb it was so much fun using the brugs to start our days for a while. MOre then I ever imagined my first growing season. Mary Jane ...lol...Tarzan..Jane...KOng...rings a bell? lol sorry hahahaha Brenda I do not intend to stop the daily dose of wishes and cheers...the pics are just not from THAT day or not only brugs. But I love starting my day with the first thought of all of you and trying to make you all have something to look forward to checking out on here ...Of course now you and I are doing the bingo and sign in game first hahahahaha Shawn I know you are going to knock our socks of with all the brugs you aquired lol. Shawn I think the angels are blooming because they know they have a job to do. Making the wintery days of so many a little brighter. It is just amazing how LONG the blooms last now. On this one it seams that each blossom is different. I love it. I think I read that it is a slow grower but I could be wrong. Deb the little angel came in the mail yesterday from my sister. on the bottom she wrote...1000 kisses. I am homesick now. Everybody said I was angel and I really miss my co workers and friends a LOT. Thank goodness for all the angels that remind me of beautiful memories. Eloise I was hungry this morning lol. Since I hate to eat alone ...I figured I invite you all to join me ;-) Linda so happy you liked it. Theresa you are last. Cause I just do not know what to say but brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr it even LOOKS cold hahahahaha Now that is ONE thing I do not miss about my former job. Don't you just love how the Christmas tree looks with presents under it? All that color is so beautiful! Lucy, what a wonderful time you had watching Madison get her jeep! I know the exact feeling. When my oldest grandkids were about 7 and 4, I got each one their own motorized car, Barbie and a sort of motorcyle. We wrapped a huge box with smaller ones inside until they got to the smallest one that instructed them to go to grandma's room. We had a huge bow on each of the cars, and boy were they happy. My now 2 y.o. GD has both cars, and we have to watch her in the backyard because she knows how to push on the pedal and go! We aren't starting our celebration until 9 AM, and I can't wait until I see my grandbaby get her rocking horse that I got her! Merry Christmas and eat all you want, LOL!

Carrie, this is a peach and cream burgmansia, it is not pink. I do not know the name of the burgmansia. We were in West Palm Beach Florida, and my husband was driving and went oh my God, look at that! I thought he saw a topless woman. There was a long driveway that was outlined with these peach burgmansia, you actually drove under them, it was beautiful. My husband told me to go the next day and find that plant. I got out of the car and went and got one of the blooms, since I had no idea what it was, and took it to the nursery, I found one in a 15 gallon pot and had it shipped to Texas by ups. I have had it since 2001. I finally lost the mother plant this past winter, it was still inthe 15 gallon pot. I did not cover it and it froze. I had so many branches that touched the ground that rooted themselves, I just cut them from the dead mother plant, and they took off, this is their first year, they are almost as tall as the house, but will get much taller. There are actually 3 small trees in the photo. This plant does great in San Antonio, but doesn't do well in Rockport. I have one that is dark yellow that only gets about 6 or 7 feet tall that does really well in Rockport, that is the one that I call my fruit cocktail brugmansia, the lower branches bloom pink and the top branches bloom yellow, both love the coastal weather. Eloise we posted at the same time hahaha I know that tale from my mom too hahaha and I can not remember it either. Luckily my palms do hardly ever itch. Compared to my moms hahaha She must have always itched the wrong one though. Because she always spend all her money on us lol

Happy New Year. May it enriched our lives to the fullest and with beautiful things money can not buy. Of course having some to get at least by, is something I hope for everyone!!

Thanks Lucy~I hope 2009 is a good year for all of us.We have each other our jobs,health,families and our plants with a little help from our guardian angel 2009 will be good to us all.

As for things we do for the New Year are:Eating 12 grapes before midnight, as you eat each grape you make a wish.My DW grandmother would take any quarters, nickels or dimes and wrap them in foil then put them outside on New Years Eve and then the next day you give them to your family or friends to carry for good luck, of course keep one for yourself LOL.And last who your with or what your doing on New Years Eve is what you will be doing for the rest of the year or spending the rest of the year with(loved one or family,friends) :0)

Rigo thank you for sharing your new years believes with us. I am intrigued about the grapes and the putting the money out is a real nice way of wishing someone luck and always have enough money so not to worry about were the food is coming from. That would be the luck I associate with the money. I just got to go and get me some of the coins my DH collects lol
NOW....the reason you had me log in after reading the THIRD one...which is familiar to me too. ehmmm let me just say it does not work hahahahahaha I spend it in bed, with different men, in different countries...so now you know why I rather go to sleep and spend it with myself roflmao

Thanks Lucy. In Louisiana we would eat pork, black eyed peas and cabbage for health wealth and happiness. I am scared to not do it. Just look at the shape I would be in if I DIDN'T eat that stuff, lol.
