Good morning friends

Hope that you are ok.

Don't let little things upset or bother you today.

There are bigger things in life to do that for us and I hope that they will be battled and you come out the winner!!!

Precious and I enjoy our time together in the morning, picking out a picture for you. She gets really upset when OUR time is not happening lol. Like when Maddy is here and it happens later lol

So...back to the POTD....What is it that YOU see?

The pics wouldn't load all the way but what I could see of that fungus looked really pretty, almost like a flower.

ha ha ha Karyn I hope it was not because it was still UPLOADING ...I see we are here at the forum at the same time lol

Sure hope it loads ALL the way....then you can see MORE ;-)

But I am with you. They do look beautiful...until they turn to MUSH lol.
All I wished when it grew all over the back part of the yard, that they would be edible. Man we could have eaten 4FR on them.

Beautiful Amaryllis, mine got too tall this year also. Brrrrrrrrrr is right! Here in San Antonio we are expecting the coldest weather in 40 years. We might not get above freezing on Friday! Many of the plants I brought in a few weeks ago are sprouting new leaves. The first hard freeze snuck up on us and I accidentally left the Duranta out and thought it was dead, but now it's sprouting new leaves. Even one small Brug cutting that got left out is now sprouting from the bottom even though the top is shriveled. We'll be moving the Christmas lights over to the plants that are too big to bring in.

Good morning Lucy. No hangover here! But sure have a headache! Was planning on a quit night at home. Setting outside by the fire with DH. Ending up spending the night in the ER with HB having chest pain. Said they thought it was form stress but wanted him to stay. But the hard head checked himself out! He is going to follow up with his heart Dr. Anyway, hope your new years eve was better. Keep me and him in your prayers. I sure hope the worst is over and we have a better year ahead. Mom should be coming home this week. Thanks for the prayers. She is doing so much better. Up walking around, eating and all. Still needs a little walk on the stairs. But getting there. She is sure ready to come home. ANYWAY! Happy New Year to all. Please kept My family and me in your prayers for a good year to come. Love and hugs Dorothy

Wow! Isn't it great to start thinking of anotehr garden season!!! For a change I actually got to just a bit of the cleanup this past fall. Can't do it right now as its all covered with 3-4' snowdrifts.....out of sight, out of mind - LOL Lucy- glad you got to have Maddy over the wknd. Our G'son is just a block away but now at (almost)10 spends more time w chums than G'ma and I. Pulling into the driveway last night I could see him running home...all flailing elbows and knees in snowgear and boots...never walks, always running. Paused in the drive to watch-LOL. What a joy they are! All the projects remind me of similar needs in my yard but I think I'm going to be investing most of my money in larger containers for all the cuttings which were shared with me this fall.....on top of the 'herd' I already had accumulated. Yaaayyy. Maybe I've 'turned the corner' with both my bronchitis and attitude. Y'all have gotten me ready to start thinking about 2010 much more postively. Will

Good morning all. Lucy, I have never seen such a beautiful mushroom! We only get the dark ones or very small ones. Anyway, I too was trying to figure if it was a marigold, but didn't understand what that piece of wood (now I see it's a tree trunk) was doing next to the "marigold", LOL!

Chantrelles (sp)- they grown sometimes along our driveway in Spring or Fall. We had a few this year.
They are a gourmet mushroom---look online for recipes.

This is a great find, if you can bring yourself to eat such beauty! Because it has been so cold, these mushrooms should be clear of bugs and larvae!!!

I don't think that these are chanterelles (in German: Pfifferlinge). I think they are those huge, hard fungi that mostly grow on a tree trunk. -
Well, we'll find out sooner or later, won't we?

Ingrid thanks for translating. They are for sure a LOT BIGGER then Chantrelles. Oh my gosh I would be in mushroom heaven I HAD so many of them. Heck one can grow as big as a dinnerplate!

NO CAT underneath the 2 pictures either lol.
But Ingrid you did see that I used a mushroom picture as a background.

I still see something in it that no one has mentioned....look BEYOND the PICTURES .........hint hint lol

I just had to do it. I am not sure who gets to see that advertisement for gosh knows what...the only thing that really stuck with me was them making smiley faces out of all sorts of things.

Trust me, took me a while to SEE them and know what they are trying to show rofl
