We need to replace a retaining wall that is only 4 feet from the trunks of a large row of very big (50+ feet tall) arborvitae.
I'm told that to put proper drainage they will need to dig right up to the trunks.
A local "Arborist" said that it is ok to dig right up to the trunk, as long as we don't damage the trunk.
I was hoping to get other opinions.
Also will filling one side of the area with stone for drainage affect the arborvitae?
Thanks n advance for your advice!!
