please help me choose the right conifers for my landscape

Hello everyone,

I love conifers, particularly the blue spruce, but I know it is very important to choose the right tree for the right spot. I am located in the Oklahoma City area, zone 7a. Our summers are hot and dry for the most part. My house was built two years ago, and I have two maples out front but otherwise its pretty much a blank slate. I was thinking that a taller, somewhat columnar blue spruce in the southeast corner of the house, and a smaller Globosa blue spruce near the door would be pretty with the pink knockout roses, some purple fountain grass, and other vegetation. I was thinking of a purple leaf plum framing the front of the house on the east side too, and some southern highbush blueberries on the other side closer to the door.

Do you think these conifers would do ok here in this climate, and our red clay soil? Or would I be better off choosing other types of conifers?

Here is a link that might be useful: Front of house facing south
